If by that you mean what Hito is saying here then I agree, but point out that it's an Open League issue more than a scheduled league one.mattgslater wrote:The reason you don't see a lot of perpetual agility teams isn't that they don't win. It's that they stop building at a certain point.

Very true. Scheduled teams tend to play fewer games. Up to 30-40 games, you don't start seeing this dynamic become dominant. One rebuild with elves is kind of fun; it's just that it gets old after awhile.dode74 wrote:If by that you mean what Hito is saying here then I agree, but point out that it's an Open League issue more than a scheduled league one.mattgslater wrote:The reason you don't see a lot of perpetual agility teams isn't that they don't win. What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

Re: Super Stars team vs even development
As I pointed out with OCC, we're onto 100+ games. I had about 60 with my Orcs and have 54 with my DE. Some of the teams have been around since the start - 2 Orc, 2 Chaos, 1 Lizard, 1 WoE. That said, we had a huge expansion about S3, so I know that the current champs (lizards) have 71 games, for example.
We have a BBManager-based elo system running, so you can see for yourself how teams are doing (it includes WDL records). The first few seasons are missing as we only started with BBManager on Season 4, so you can add 30+ games to some of the teams (my orcs, the Orcward Buggas, have another 38 games not recorded there).

That's all teams, ever. This is current teams (i.e. played last season):

I took a look at this using the WDL data from the links I gave above. This is a win% chart for OCC for all the BBManager records we have, sorted from highest win% to lowest:mattgslater wrote:Very true. Scheduled teams tend to play fewer games. And this is a win% chart for OCC for all the records but filtered for teams which have at least 40 games behind them, again sorted from highest win% to lowest. Note that this still includes all games played by those teams.

Obviously the lower the number of teams the bigger the influence of coaching ability, so for the Amazon team in the second chart we can only say that they have a 41-70% win% with that coach.
I'm going to see if Tigga can provide me with a snapshot at the end of season 7, so I can take a look at the records past 40 for some teams. I suspect there will be too few to be much use, but it's worth a look.

Clearly, Wood Elves are overpowered and need to be nerfed! Starting with removing the Wardancers ... and the Tree ... and give them all STR 2!dode74 wrote:I can dig out the runners up tomorrow, but the winners, in order, have been: WoE, WoE, Orc, Chaos, WoE, WoE, WoE, WoE, WoE, Lizard, Lizard.
