I wouldn't put dodge on the thrower, +MA or Big hand, or accurate, but dodge (as good of a skill it is on skavens) more than likely will come into play a lot less than you think.

Re: Underworld advice
I don't think I've ever taken Dodge on an Underworld Thrower, but I've taken +1MA (on a 6,4) a couple of times, and found it really good.
The last time I took Underworld (the team has just 1 game left to play), I rolled doubles on both Storm Vermin as first skill-up. I took Dodge, followed by Guard (my normal first pick), followed by 2-Heads. This worked OK, but I felt was much quieter and less effective than ignoring the doubles and going: Guard/M-Blow/Claw (my normal choice). Thus I expect to ignore Dodge in future, probably on all the Skaven players (except as a late pick). General or Strength + Mutation (e.g. M-Blow/Claw, Wrestle/Horns) trumps Dodge + 2-Heads, I feel.
Hope that helps.

I loved Dodge on my thrower.Smeborg wrote:TBH, I'm not sure which is better on an Underworld Thrower, +1MA or Dodge. +1MA is outstanding in practice. While Dodge is decent on the Skaven players, it makes you want to take 2-Heads as well, thus you should be aware that you are taking up 2 skill picks, taking the player quite a long way away from what you might have planned. That's my experience anyway, I feel that Dodge is a relatively quiet pick.
All the best.
My general skill path if I get a double for it is block/dodge/2 heads/xa (and maybe big hand as a last option). With animosity, the skaven throwers are actually runners...and it basically gives you a wood elf thrower for ball retrieval on defense.

Dodge is a force-multiplier skill. The more Dodge you have, the better one more Dodge gets. If you have just one or two, they get manned up on Tackle. But if you have 7 Gobs, that Thrower with Dodge will drive their sackers away from your softest guys and keep them playing safety instead of sweeping up your flanks.
