Hi All

I'm off to the Blood Bowl GT this year (trying to make up for my poor performance last year with Amazon), so this year I'm taking Skaven. I haven't used Skaven in a TR 1M tournement only TR 1.15M.

So I was thinking of this line up

1x Thrower 70k
1x Blitzer 90k
1x Rat Ogre 160k
3X Gutter Runner 240k
5x Line Rats 250k
3x Re-rolls 180k
1x Fan Factor 10k

1 Million

I have tought about dropping a FF and turning the Thrower into a Gutter Runner.

So what skills work best?

I was thinking Gutter Runner with sprint to make 1 Turn TD's a bit easier.
Rat Orge with Jug to make him more reliable
The Blitzer with Guard or strip ball
and 2 Gutter Runners with block.

So is this a good idea? or am I mad?

Any advise welcome.

Thanks Blood Bowl Nutter

Ditch the Rat Ogre and the 1 FF. Use the money to get the second Storm Vermin and the fourth Gutter Runner (giving you 12 players).

The Rat Ogre isn't worth it at TV 100 IMO.

Don't give Sprint to Gutters, relying on one turn touchdowns is not a winning strategy. I usually give one Gutter Runner Strip Ball, a linerat (or the thrower) Kick, Guard for one or both Vermin and Block on Gutters.

I agree with those above (including the definition of QFT!) .

Ditch that Rat Ogre and take a fourth Gutter Runner and the second vermin, the Rat Ogre is not worth it at 1 million.

I think you need kick somewhere, and I usually go for at least one Strip Ball Runner and a tackle Stormvermin. I also prefer wrestle over block on Runners too but that might just be me.

as above ditch ro for second sv and 4th gr. also depends on your style too posibly ditch rr for a 13th man (which is the roster i am toying with) and and an extra ff body count is important on rats

then go

leader thrower

guard sv

block gr

strip ball gr

skill for game 6 depends on where you are top middle or bottom tables

Right I will drop the Rat Orge for the 4th Gutter Runner and 2nd Blitzer.

As for the skills I really want to have one gutter runner with sprint as I will have a good chance at a 1 turn TD

Is a Rat Ogre ever worth their price? Why they were made more expensive in LRB5 is a mystery to me. :?:

But the advice about 12 players is good. Rats break easy and can't dodge as well as elves.

At TV 110 a Rat Ogre becomes a very good option IMO. It's been debated here many times but I'll just add my take on it (again):
* it adds something unique to the team: high strength and frenzy, meaning his presence is enough for opposing teams to play differently.
* on defence he can be awesome, vs elves with his prehensile tail and mighty blow pinning and hurting their players and vs bash teams he can rip open a cage.

You just need some constraint in using him. I don't do much with him on offense unless I'm down quite a lot of players. On defence he is great! But if you blitz with him every turn you're going to be in a world of trouble very often!
I've been quite succesfull with Skaven using a RO in tv 110 tourneys over the years.

I always take at Rat Ogre at 1.1M, since it does give you that extra dimension in hitting power and staying power.

A 1 turner isn't that hard with vanilla skaven, all sprint is helping with is saving you from making an extra block but when going for a OTS that will usually be on at least two dice and possibly less risky anyway. A OTS is also easy enough for a decent coach to prevent irrespective of sprint.

I feel that skaven are good enough at scoring to not need any extra help in that department from tournament skills so I tend to give them skills that focus on defence or turning the opponent over to get the ball and score again.
