Next skill for Stormvermin

Post by RevolutionaryRat »

Hi-

My star Stormvermin has block and mighty blow already. I have three games left: 1 season, 1 playoff, and a possible championship. What new skill should I give him?

Incidentally, his MA is only 6 thanks to a smashed knee or some such...

Thanks,

Brian

Hmm... Tackle if you think you'll be facing lots of dodgers and need a win to get in the playoffs. Otherwise I'd take pro, stick him on the line and sack him once you can afford to replace him

Guard, maybe tackle if you are light on it.

Depends on what teams you are likely to face. If going against mostly bashing teams, Guard is a good choice.

Going aginst agility teams, take tackle and turn him into an Elf Killer.

I think that pro would be best, but if you are thinking of giving him the boot after the finals then give him guard and stick him on your front line. His block and MB will mean that you can crack open holes in your oponents ctr line.

Shaniepoo: I don't mean to be disagreeable, but what is your reasoning for giving him Pro or retiring the SV? The main use Pro would have that I can see would be to let him occasionally reroll blocks. His movement gimp makes him an unattractive scorer or ball handler. Losing a point of movement is not such a big deal for the Skaven, as it makes his movement average instead of excellent.

Skaven only get two players that can gain strength skills easily, and hard experience has taught me that you have to emphasize this when your SV get skills. Taking Tackle would make him a better beating stick, and taking Guard will help the rest of the team. Any regular lineman on the team could take a the Pro skill, and their added point of movement would let them get in the end zone easier.

Shaniepoo: I've spent a bit too much time thinking about Skaven tactics. I'm certain that you could give me advice on say, Norse. :D

BTW, I haven't seen you weigh in on whether Rat Ogres are worth it or not yet. I'm certain that your experience with Minotaurs qualifies you to pipe up on the subject.

My remaining opponents are: Chaos, then perhaps Chaos or another Skaven, and posible big bad orcs.

My team does not have leader.

It appears that the majority vote is guard or tackle. Since not a single person on my team has tackle, perhaps he should get it.

Skummy, you may see me at a game night sometime, I am in the LWBBL with Dennis and Andy. I live in Ballston. Unfortunately, Friday night is kendo night.

if you are taking on the bruisers take guard. :D

you will need the assists to beat on his STR4 boyz, and strategic placement of the guard will make him think twice about certain blocks,

also there will not be moch dodge on the heavy squad, so tackle will not help much...
