How can you stop the Lizardmen?
I am new to Blood Bowl I am playing with Dwarfs Our League consists of 1 Undead Team 1 Human Team 1 Lizardmen and me the Dwarfs I put this message in General topics by mistake.
In my first game I played against the Lizardmen his team was half skinks, half saurus, 3 rerolls and the rest of the million bucks was used for his fan factor. I had 2 slayer, 2 blitzers, 1 runner, 3 rerolls, 1 apothecary and the rest was used for Lineman and 2 fan factor. I started off with defense forming a net at the front line leaving my runner in the back. The Lizardmen team put his saurus on the side to form a hole and put his weak sinks way in the back so you are not able to reach the skinks in one turn knowing they have a movement of 8 and with 2 pushes they can get away from about anywhere! His saurus start out with a ST of 4 which is unfair compared to a Dwarf lineman a St of 3 becuase he also has good movement and a Dwarf does not he is a Dwarf on streroids! Everytime I try to kill him he gets two dice he chooses due to his ST 4 and my ST 3 so I have to team up on him weaking my line allowing me to play with one dice. WHAT DO I DO?? by the second half he killed two of my dwarf line man and gave a 3rd a niggling injury and scored twice! I cant belive he killed a 2 dwarf Lineman I had to use my apothecary which didnt work.
My strategy was to kill his running game, kill the skinks! I knocked 3 out by the end of the game but he had 5 I tried to avoid picking up the ball at all and just kill his runnig game but I lost 3-0 2 man dead 1 injury he had 3 knock outs that it I also had 2 players kicked out of the game in the second half do to fauls I did this even though he had the referee because I was losing 2 zip and 2 dead players by the second half!
These Lizardmen are unstoppable! he has played three leagues and has not lost one game ever! Everyone in our league has played him and lost as well.
Our League plays on Mondays and we are considering giving everyone another team to see if we can beat this guy with diffrent teams! Any ideas on the other team I should pick and how do I kill this guy! Any chance of saving my Dwarfs?(I am short 3 players due 2 two deaths and 1 injury with Lizardmen) I have only 30k in treasury.
Maybe my second team should be Lizardmen too! This team is un stoppable in Blood bowl. If anyone has any game plans or stragtegys advice or better team to beat these guys please post or private message me.

Ok, maybe he got lucky killing do dwarf lineman and a niggling injury on another! I say his def con dice are loaded! WAAA What do i do now I only have 30k and I am short 2 players. I think my next turn I am up against humans any advice?
I did try to block his saurus but man he pushed them knocked them down so iwas not able to move them a second time to block them again.
Also we are starting with other teams so we will each have two teams we are now with 1 undead 2 human team 1 wood elf team and I have not decieded on another team yet and ideas??

No its silly blocking the saruas just put a player up to him, he will block you if he gets unlucky he will go down cause they have no block, if you go down with av9 you are more than likely able to stand up in your turn so that all the sauras can do is block you again. Its to prevent them from moving.

everytime I put a man on him I tied to put him on his back but I needed to player to do this to avoid the two he chooses. I always tried to put a man on him but he killed two line man and injured another I also fouled him every chance I got but that took players out for the game because I was caught! Which didnt matter cause the 2 player were kicked out in the second half and in the first half I was down two zip with 2 dead players.

You should have just put a man on him, unless you have more players your 2 slow to bother trying to get 2 players on him so you can do a 1 block dice, this will open up more room for him to move in. They are stronger than you so don't try and fight him, just bog him down so he can't use his speed. He got lucky with his injury rolls, this happens sometimes, I think most people would have had a hard time winning with less dwarfs. Just learn from the experience and amend your tactics to give you a better chance next time you meet.
His 2 dice blocks will fail him at some point a skull and bothdown will cripple him and suck up rerolls as he doens't have block to start with, dice results my mummies roll all too often :]
What was the final score of the game, if it was tight then you probably did very well considering your just starting out with the game. Like i said before search for dwarf guides in this forum and it will give you some tips and plays you can use.

I posted this to the general thread 1st.
Lizzies are not unbeatable. Lizzies do have a very different balance to most other teams - S4 and stunties is a good combo.
It sounds from your description as if the Lizzie player was very good and knew exactly how to take on Dwarves. Also it sounds like his was lucky with casualties.
However Dwarves have lots of good things when facing Lizzies
1) Troll Slayers - blitz his saurus into the crowd - and even if he doesn't leave that open at least you've got dauntless so can get the 2 die blocks.
2) Tackle - lots of lovely tackle. Get longbeards on skinks. When blocking you'll hurt him and he can't easily dodge through your lines.
So tactics
1) Pin the saurus. If they block then they can't blitz or move
2) Defend deep. Always a good policy for Dwarves as you lack the mobility to get back.
3) Blitz skinks - use players with tackle. His Saurus can't move the ball so without skinks
4) Don't foul. If you haven't got a Dirty Player the odds are against you and Dwarves cannot afford to be men down.

You would be better off not fouling, so that he can't effectively as well. If you foul for the sake of it then the ref will be watching you when you really need the tactical foul.
Only time you should foul is if you really need the player being fouled to be stunned. Without a DP there is not enough chance of bettering this and too much risk of being sent off.Don't foul. If you haven't got a Dirty Player the odds are against you and Dwarves cannot afford to be men down.

The short answer is "no", but it is a qualified "no" because there are odd ways of interpreting the question which could justify the answer "yes".

Played Daniel Martinez' Lizards in the top-table match 2nd day of the WPS tournament. Here's how I beat him (using orcs)
Made an effort to isolate every saurus, through good choice of pushbacks. Those Saurus were then marked with lineorcs. He made dozens of blocks on them but AV9 held out; the good thing was they weren't dodging away to go somewhere else.
Main thrust of Saurus/Krox was surrounded and blunted. Prevented rollouts of Saurus by hunting them down with blitzers/blackorcs to ensure none ran through. The rest were contained in a ruck.
Blitzers with tackle were sent running down the flanks to hunt down and murder the skinks hiding in the backfield. Skinks who broke through were picked up by a tackling blitzer and thrashed to within an inch of their life.
With the Saurus man-marked it was hard to break enough of them free to get the play moving. Random blocks were the best he could manage, negating his speed advantage. The skinks, once isolated, were vulnerable to tackling blitzers and risked burning rerolls to make their dodges.
Tips:
High AV players to mark the saurus. Even if you're only using Skaven, use your Storm Vermin. Anything to make him roll blocks rather than move them.
Tackle, Tackle, Tackle. 2, preferably 3 players. You'll need 1 behind your line to catch breakaways and the rest to go hunting. Make him live in fear for the life of his skinks. If he's protecting his players he'll make rushed plays. If you don't have tackle then either get it ASAP, or hunt in packs and get 3 die blocks.

In this situation, Slayers are your best friend!
In our league, we have a superb Dwarf player, he thinks every situation through, if you're not playing to 4 mintues, always take a minute to figure your options, if the Lizzie player isn't following up his blocks, great!
Your not always going to get knocked over, so set up a Slayer Blitzing in (with your free Longbeard providing the assist), and suddenly you've got 2d blocks, he's then got to split up the line to deal with it, and at that point you're getting there.... Keep going, give them a score, if you can delay them 1 extra turn, great, just keep isolating those saurus and putting them down.
Second half, you should roll over the remaining Skinks!
Remember, against Lizzie's - Slayers, Slayers, Slayers!!!
