Blodge, SS, Sure Hands necro Ghoul rolls doubles

Post by Ullis »

I'm stumped. After last night's very close game against dark elves that I had no business drawing, my ghoul ball carrier skilled up and rolled double threes. Barbara's very reliable with Blodge, Side step and Sure Hands.

The team looks like this:

2 flesh golems with Block
Werewolf with Blodge, MB, PO, Jump up (my baby!)
Rookie werewolf
Ghoul with Block, SS, Sure Hands (double skill to take)
Wight with Guard, MB, PO
Wight with +ST (niggled this match)
Zombie with Block and Guard
Zombie with Dirty Player
4 rookie zombies

3 RR's, 9 FF

The team's a bit unbalanced right now. The flesh golems desperately need second skills - a three skill flesh golem just died - and a rookie werewolf is always an issue on a developed team.

I really have no idea what to give the ghoul. Without doubles she'd have gotten Tackle (eventually followed by Diving Tackle) because my blodge tackler werewolf just died so I don't have anyone with Tackle. But the doubles is a really good opportunity. What to take?

Hmm your pretty low on guard and that maniac wolf you've got there could really use some. I know its your ball carrier we are talking about, but still... Thats what I'd do.

Guard isn't bad for a BC-it helps to clear TZs when the cage gets busted. I think it is probably the best choice given your lack of guard, although tackle/diving tackle wouldn't be awful.

For a ball carrier with Blodge, Side step and Sure Hands i would suggest Fend. Its so nice to decide where you want to push to and your opponent can't follow up this means your are free to run and score *G*

alternatively, accurate can give you a passing option. Not sure in a necro team though :-?

Guard will help you on defense.

He can be your WW squire :orc:

on offense, if somenone breaks into your cage, it will be easier to set him free.

I have a similar ghoul. Guard has worked well on it. Though I don't have sure hands on it come to think of it. Not sure how that would change things. Guard helps blitz people off it.

One thing I keep meaning to get is shadowing on my werewolf, now that will be fun :)

Fend, to defend your piece against similar opponents. Or guard...

Leader would actually reduce your TV overall....

Fend is an early choice for my ghouls....

Guard is excellent... as is Stand Firm

How about Juggernaut?

Think of being able to blitz your way out of a spot and have one more option on the blockdice to push someone back. Could save you a dodge, could save you a dodge into a tackle zone.

Guard, ever useful when the cage is attacked, or you need to open a gap somewhere.

Guard, for all the reasons said above, and the extra one that on defense, you sometimes can't afford to be choosy about where that assist comes from.

Guard it is. I was actually a bit afraid of giving Guard to it because that's the road to death eventually. But thanks to you I came to my senses. Nobody lives forever.
