6 games with Vamps - Where to go from here?
I'm currently 6 games into a 12 game season with Vampires. TV sits at 1330 (1370 if you count the MNG thrall)
Roster:
http://bbloc.calgarygamers.net/index.ph ... 2&obj_id=5
I have 150k in the bank and I'm not sure what to spend it on.
My next 6 games are against 4 veteran teams (each with 14+ games played and TVs from 1450 to 1850) and 2 teams from my division (same # of games as me, equal or less TV likely).
I haven't run a vampire team with 5 vampires on the pitch yet, but I think I'd like to wait for a bit of Pro before I do that. So if I bought a 5th vampire, he'd probably be a bench warmer for now. 110k on the bench seems like a bad idea, but I have to get a 5th vampire eventually...
I'm not sure if a 5th re-roll is a good idea or not either. Again, I was hoping to have some Pro by now to help with the bloodlusts.
Thoughts on what to spend the 150k on? 110 for a vampire, or 140 for a re-roll?

For me: Reroll.... Three vamps on the field is often enough.... Four vamps on the field with only 4 rerolls?(!)

Hasn't been too bad so far. I only use the RRs on bloodlust if I'm really short on thralls or if I'm running a vampire alone to the endzone.
You do make a good point though, a 5th re-roll would make things easier

Ship me your dice!dsavillian wrote:I only use the RRs on bloodlust if I'm really short on thralls or if I'm running a vampire alone to the endzone....

With three vamps taking an action on the pitch each turn, you (nuffle, not me) will average a failed bloodlust every other turn.... That's a "guaranteed" four per half just on Bloodlust....

heh, yeah. Sometimes, to keep the BL down, I don't take an action with a vampire if I don't need to. And I'll bite a thrall when it comes up... just not if I've already put 2 in the BH bin

Re: 6 games with Vamps - Where to go from here?
I would buy the 5th vamp and play him or add a thrall or two.
Alternatively you can hold of buying stuff and make decisions based on what inducements you will be able to get in your next match.
As long as you have a decent bench 5 vamps 4 rr is fine and not excessive at all.
I would never go over 4 RR even with 6 vamps, 70TV is a lot for each.

Four rr is fine. Buy a Vampire and a Thrall, sack the damaged one. Take Pro on the the next two Vamps to level. Concentrate on building for next season, and get some Block/Wrestle on those Thralls asap.

Get some Dodge on the Vamps! Actually, I prefer it before Block. It improves their mobility, and means they can dodge safely when they need to bite a Thrall (say when they are making a move action).

the plan was to do a 50/50 split, but I rolled +ST and +MV on my first 2, so I figured block since I was hitting with them more
not sure why I didnt take dodge on the 3rd

I would buy the reroll, and I would skill up the 4 vampires before considering to buy the 5th.

As a rule of thumb you need one rr for each vamp you have.
I would never bench a 110k player, so if you have the vampires on the roster, make sure you have enough re-rolls and thralls to support them.
I would probably buy the 5th rr now, or a couple of thralls.

For your reference, best vampire team all times has 6 Vamps 4 rr: https://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team ... _id=644044
RR are overated, you can always feed on LOS guys.
You are playing a Vampire team not a hobgoblin team!

Anyways this team has 5 AG increases and dodge on all vamps and has been playing only one elf team the last 40 matches or so i guess this team is in a somewhat other position than what we are dealing with here. With 6 vampires on the field you cannot probably always feed on your LoS. But of course i should not give advice to fumbbler's...

heh, apples and oranges there a bit, but I see your point.
so maybe vampire + thrall to drain the treasury and give myself a nearly full roster, leaving a slot for a star player going forward.
Thanks for the discussion everyone!
