Team is currently
2 dancers one +ag tackle other strip ball
one +ag lino
1 kick lino
one guard lino
6 vanilla linos
a catcher with wrestle.
2 re rolls

8 games to go,

Do I

buy a catcher
buy a thrower (though I use the +AG in that role for now
buy a re-roll
do something else

I am leaning towards the roll. (2 is not enough and they cannot die)

So let me get this straight. You openly hate on dwarves...but you play Wood Elves.

Shameless.

Thats the thing about prejudices. they only work one way.

But yes the dancers are FILTH. Didn't realise quite how much till I played em. Still losing though on 1-1-3 (though one was against Dwarves so that was expected)

Thrower would be a waste with only 8 games to go and the +AG lino well placed for picking up duty. 3 rerolls is nice. You don't have so many rerolling skills that you couldn't get value out of it.

I hope you have an apo.
If you have one, buy the reroll.

There, fixed it for you ;)

I'd probably save for the Tree just because they are so good at reducing attrition across the team. After that probably the 3rd reroll before any more players. I would generally be looking to replace dead lineman with catchers too.

I would definitely get the 3rd reroll. You said it yourself, two just isn't enough, especially since you have so many vanilla Lineelves that lack both Dodge and blocking skills. A Tree would be nice and does cut the attrition, but failed Dodges kill as well. Not to mention all those hits you take AFTER that failed Dodge.

Then I'd go for a second Catcher and start saving for a Tree.

That’s not so bad then, even those of us who have never played him have still lost games to DoubleSkulls.

A re-roll looks good as your team is so low on block/wrestle and dodge. That can be the rouble when rolling some nice stats and doubles with elves as it inflates your TV so your short turn game suffers without the bread and butter skills.

The way of the woodelf?

And people think they are broken?

How did you lose against dwarves, you can out run them, out pass them, ie just get out of their stinking way. BTW I like beating up their runners.

Throw the towel in...

I can't work out the style of play. You could have had 2 wrestle linos... why has the catcher got wrestle :o !

Wardancers are doing nice at least.

What route are you trying to develop them in?

I'd go with a Thrower, he will rack up points quick enought and Safe Throw is just around the corner. It does mean you have to pass the ball a bit though. The other school of thought is a double catcher team.

Eight games before team is cancelled forever, or eight games to go before playoffs and team comes back next season?

 8 games before all his players are inevitably killed by ClawPOMB and he has no money left to replace exspensive WE players.

Kick is the best non-double choice for the first welf lino who skills up and guard is much better than wrestle - why would you want 2 wrestle linos?

Wrestle is good on catchers because they are of high enough movement to still be a scoring threat if they get wrestled down and they are less likely to need 3/4+ dodges to escape if they had block and stayed on their feet. It is also good later down the line when you can turn them into mini-wardancers - leap, strip ball, dauntless etc.

Dwarves are probably one of the harder match ups for elves, yeah they're slow, but with even normal luck you can't rely on dodging away all the time, ones happen all too frequently, 2 rerolls soon disappear (I voted reroll btw), they can easily down dodgers/blodgers and with sure hand/block runners and a couple of guards the odds are very much against you from cage-busting. Any half decent dwarf player wont let you target his runners and wont pass, so you out passing them is irrelevant. They are built for the 2-1 grind against welf teams, running away wont stop that.

This. Eccbl resets each season. I am not going to make the playoffs. I am a puppy in a sharkpool in this league. I want dodge wrestle linos after kick. First one got ag. Second kick and third doubled. One mistake was not taking the double ag on the dancer. Thought for a long time and jumped the wrong way

There are different strategies I’d adopt depending on the length of the league and the other teams I’d be facing.

If it was just 10 games and all rookie teams then I’d have been tempted to pass up +AG and guard on the linos and get dodge instead (assuming there were not too many dwarf teams).

The great thing about WE is that they can skill up any player really quickly so 6 playerss with dodge and AG4 after 5 games would be tough to face.

If you’ll keep the team for the next season then guard is always golden and +AG is not bad either.

I dunno, AG5 for a lino is a 40K price hike and it only benefits him when dodging through TZ or picking the ball up in a TZ and throwing it.

Seriously though, a load of Wrestle linos is hilarious as it takes down a lot of the opposition requiring 2 opponents to tie up one elf. Also it results in more pushbacks too as wrestled down is not a good out come for the opponent. Net result, lots of gaps appear that WE can exploit.
