Another double for Star skink!

Post by greymurphy42 »

After a 3-0 win over some ogres yesterday evening, my lizardman team gained 3 skill ups. The rookie skink is getting sidestep, and I'll probably take dodge for the saurus. I'm just not sure what to choose for the super skink! The team's in a scheduled league, with a knock out competition afterwards and the remaining games are Norse, Undead, Chaos, Wood Elves and Ogres before the play offs.

Saurus - Block [double]
Saurus - Block, Tackle
Saurus - Block, Mighty Blow
Saurus - Block
Saurus - Block
Saurus - Frenzy
Kroxigor - Guard
Skink - Sidestep
Skink - Block, Sure Hands, Sidestep [double]
Skink - Sidestep, Diving Tackle, Wrestle
Skink - [normal]
Skink -

3 rerolls
FF 10
Apoth, 1 coach, 1 cheerleader
TV 1620 (before skill ups)

Any thoughts would be most welcome :) Thanks in advance :)

If you hadn't taken Sure Hands, I'd have said Guard. I had a team with a Blodge Guard and a Blodge Dauntless. Terror in the back field.

Fend (or Frenzy  ).

Wow, that's one amazing skink.

Consider Sidestep for the saurus. In the long run, dodge is probably better, but you haven't got that many games left. Sidestepping ST 4 pieces are great fun to move into the side of a cage...even if they pow, you SS into the middle and then they have to move the cage in case you just stand up with the blitz and hit the carrier.

With the skink, it's tricky. Block and Sure Hands are far and away the best two doubles...personally, Dauntless or Tackle. I'd probably go Tackle, as odds are he won't roll *another* double, and Tackle/Diving Tackle combos well together. Alternately, for great lulz, go Mighty Blow.

Long range skink death! :D

Strip Ball would add a new and exciting element to 2d against blocks into a cage.

For the next 2 games, till he faceplants and dies :D.

He's a ball carrier with Sure Hands, you don't want to be taking chances with dodges and frequent halfdices, because you'll need him for your offensive drive.

For the Saurus: jump up or ignore the double and give him MB.
For the skink: Fend probably, although you can take the risk of giving him strip ball, but the latter would only work with the support of another skink gaining guard.

TBH I think from a conservative perspective Fend is probably the most attractive choice, Strip Ball and Dauntless both mean be is going to be going offensive, with its associated risks. Tackle even if he is marking space rather than a player may well mean he is exposed.

Alternativly assuming he is being protected Leader offers a cheap re-roll.

I would suggest Fend on the Skink ball carrier.

All the best.

Fend is something I didn't consider.

I like it! I'd probably go for that ahead of tackle too...I've had a couple of blodge fend chaos ball carriers, and I loved them.

Fend by a mile.

This might just be further bloat but Kick or Kick-Off Return maybe? I like Fend though and with sidestep later that guy will be an amazing little ball carrier.

Nice team! I'd ignore the double on the saurus and take mb to smash some heads. Fend would probably be the best choice for your superstar skink. Agree with Iranian Spy that both Kick and kick off return could be fun as well depending on where you have the biggest problems (kick for a defense boost, kor for offense boost).

I agree with Smeborg (and others) on Fend.

HOWEVER, the hilarious choice is PILE ON!!! I know it has ZERO synergy with Sure Hands but it's funny. :D
