Project Underworld

Post by The Dazzler »

As i had so much fun with Gobbos over the wkd and i have a Skaven team (with Mutated players) painted but doing nothing, i thought i'd give our new League a go with Underworld. Max of 8 games.

1 WS Troll
2 Blitzers
2 Throwers
2 LineRats
6 Gobbos
3 RR
980K (with 20K saved towards the Apoth)

I even have some spare Gobbo players to cannabalise for 2H, Extra-Arms, etc

Happy Days!

I've read Plasmoid's Playbook so have an idea how'd i'd like the team to develop.

Is the team as fun to play as it looks? What are your experiences of using UW?

Cheers

Looks great. I would drop a gobbo and take the apoth to start.

That's a much better roster with the Apoth. I always start with the Apoth, and have never regretted it.

All the best.

Thanks chap - agree that having the Apoth from the off makes sense

What are the thoughts on the optimal number of re-rolls for Underworld?

My team is about 1300 TV and has 4, some games they all get used up by T4 other times I have some left over. The players tend to have quite a high turnover rate so it’s unlikely I’ll have more than 6 block players most of the time. This is the filler team in a feeder league that mostly has rookies so I won’t want them to go above 1500 or min-max since they will largely face low TV teams.

The team is only semi serious so I’ll probably not go the bash route for the troll or skaven, though a dwarf killer mutated goblin might be fun with claw and PO.

I feel that 3 RR + Leader (at some point) is the technically correct amount. This has worked well for me in practice. I feel you need to keep TV lean, it's one of the few advantages you have. Even TV starts to rise as the league gets bashy and you have to move to 15 or 16 rostered players.

Hope that helps.
