Hi guys
My Chaos Pact team, FKZN, meets an Orc team tomorrow that's terrifying in its superior development.... after only five games.
I bring the following to the table (my two heads gobbo is MNG):
1 Ogre (Guard)
1 Troll
1 Elf
8 Lineman (1 Block; 1 Block/Dodge; 1 Leader; 1 +ST)
3 rerolls, apoth, 3FF, 1 cheer, 1 coach)
My opponent has:
1 Troll
4 Blitzer (1 Guard; 1 +AG; 1 Tackle)
4 Black Orcs (1 Block)
1 Lineman (+ST)
2 Throwers (1 Accurate)
2 Goblins
He has as much speed, more Block, more Dodge and MUCH more raw ST. He also has a three man bench, while I can offer no reserves. Frankly, facing down 5 Black Orcs, a troll, four blitzers and a thrower is not something I'm looking forward to.
Any tips on what I should be looking to do with my 200k? Apart from auto-conceding, I mean.

Wizard and BB Babe. I'd disagree that he has as much speed, but it is a tough match up.

Re: 1200 Pact vs 1400 Orcs
Well, it was a tight game, with the Orcs scoring from elf-style long passes more than once, including a play spanning the entire length of the pitch - fully endzone to endzone - in T8 of the second half. The match finished 3-2 to the orcs with no serious injuries on either side. I drew a greased boots dirty trick that bought me an early score - undone by a riot on the next kick off - and gambled with the wizard's lightning bolt, pursuing a 2TD swing early in the second half, that failed. I also double skulled the first block on three receiving turns, and my opponent enjoyed two blitz results to boot.
Skill rolls:
Orcs - Orc blitzer (dodge), Goblin (sprint), Orc Thrower (+AG)
Pact - ST4 lineman (6+4), lineman (normal)
I'm thinking block for the unskilled player and guard for the ST4 player, but with three elf teams left to play there are so many skills I might look at instead. In the context of my team, what would you do in my position?
Cheers!

You could get a couple of 100k cards or one 200k card.

With so much dodgy on the next couple of games, I would probably go tackle on the unskilled rather than block. It would depend on their rosters, but if they have invested in dodge, then your tackle-free team would be easy to run around. They re already AG4 though, so, that might reduce the effectiveness of tackle. I could see block as well. The other option I would look at is pass, as you already have a reciever in the dark elf, and against elves, you might have to have a quick equalization option to catch up to their stupid-fast TDsShteve0 wrote:Pact - ST4 lineman (6+4), lineman (normal)

For the ST4 guy, definitely guard. If he's sorrounded by friends and foes in a scrum, he makes everyone around him +1 st, and is +1 st himself. Elf teams that didn't get a ton of doubles and/or +st players will have a hard time moving whatever line or cage you make with the ST4 guarder and his guarded friends.
