Skaven vs. Lizards

Need some advice:

In my team, there are 3 Gutterrunner: 1 One-turn-scorer, 1 new and 1 with leap, sure hands, vll. One Storm-Vermin with guard and AG 4, 2 throwers and 6 blocking linemen (one with tackle also), 1 with claw and RSC, 1 with nothing and 1 with Strength 2. That means 14 players over all.
I have to play against Lizardmen. They`ve had a hard game against undeath and now they are only 4 saurus (with nothing) and 6 skinks, where the most have sure feet. No one has block!

My question:

When I´m in offense, should I try to block them as often I can to minimize the team and then score in the second half, or should I begin to score ASAP by using the wholes in his defence (A skink you are? - Slam!) Once again I will tell u, that I have only one reroll.

So what do you think?

Look at my (german) team at: http://www.ddbbl.de

Score on your possession asap...

Play the game to score. No point in going out of your way to kill him, you will have plenty of oppurtunities to do it.

One thing I would do, is sit that One Turn scorer in the reserve box the whole game. No point in giving him any SPP's, not to mention accidents do happen. (pitch invasion, or Throw a rock for a kill.)

You might get an oppurtunity to gang up on some Sauruses and do some real damage, but be wary of forcing the poor lizards out of the league, nobody has fun when their team is unneccassarily crushed and then beaten upon.

Only sit out the one turn wonder...

... when not needed. According to the newest rules clarifications, ANYONE that could've played at anytime (even if sitting out the whole game) can receive the MVP.... :pissed:

Ohh.. I must say, that 4 or 5 of his players are only injured and will come back next game. My One-Turn-Scorer has until now only 17 SPP and I want him to get sure feet. You also have to notice, that the team of the lizards has killed most players in League up to now.

Honestly, how often do you get to punch the crap out of the opposition playing Skaven? It's usually the other way round.

I wouldn't use the 1 turn scorer, because I'd give those SSP to someone who needs them for increases etc. The skaven player in my league has like 5 or 6 touchdowns with his rat ogre. Spread the SSP out evenly.

Wouldn't you just love new Skink Skin boots? 8)

Not a good example there Longshot. There were good reasons why I was going slay over run, which I won't go into now. Suffice to say the circumstances of the game dictated that decision.

With only 1 reroll, I would definitely run tho.

Thanks for postings. And the result is...

:smoking: 5 : 1 :smoking:

and kicked a lot of asses. And the game was held up by a riot which lasted 4 turns. I caused 4 VSA, I bought the fourth gutterrunner and my Claw-Razor sharp fangs-Lineman now has got block!!!

But, and I'm a little glad about it, no one lost his life.

for our english speaking friends: VSA=CAS

Those german translations are really strange to read :) ... we used them too back in the old days of '94 when we started to play BB with the german edition + rulebook, but we changed quickly to the english terms as we found it hard to use errata, house rules, etc. with the german stuff. Now with the living rulebook, english is default for me anyway.

Nice league you got up there in the North :)

Tim.
