My first skill on my 2nd Human Blitzer was an AG+. Now I'm not sure what to do with the guy. I have a few ideas in my head, but was wondering what other people have done when it has happened to them. I'm leaning towards making him a running back, but I'm not sure what the skill progression should be. Any help would be appreciated.

My preferred skill progression would be +1 Str, +1 Mov, Dodge, Leap, Sprint, SFeet, change name to Griff.

Sure Hands might actually be a good choice for you, as you would have someone to secure the ball on the opponent's side of the pitch. The 7 MA will help you get almost anywhere you want to go, and the agility lets you dodge away or attempt a pickup in a tackle zone with a fair chance of success. I developed a Gutter Runner in a similar fashion recently and was impressed with the overall result. Now comes the tough part, though. What do you pick on a double?

There are really two routes to take...

Tough Catcher = Pro [Dodge]

Blitzing Back = Strip Ball, MB, [Dodge]

With +1 AG already, here are my suggestions:

Normal roll -> take Sure Hands, with the reasons described above. Also makes him immune to ball stripping. Alternatively, take Strip Ball as he is then in a good position to:

Blitz > Strip > pickup ball > move on

Double roll -> I'd advise Stand Firm. Not only can he no longer be pushed into the crowd, if on the rare occaison he fails a dodge roll he does NOT fall over.

So ideally, I would aim for the following now:

+1 AG > Stand Firm > Sure Hands > Dodge

That's 2 doubles, not very likely.

IMO you either want him as a runner so Sure Hands, or blitzer so Strip Ball or Tackle depending on other teams.

If you get a double next have a long think about Leap.

Is there a prancing skill?

Doesn't really matter what you pick...Next time he plays the Jaegruund Ironfire, he will no longer be living anyways.

Normall Skill - Sure Hands, Gives you another option.
Doubles Roll - Plain Ol' Dodge. A 4AG Human Blitzer with Block and Dodge. Too good to pass up.

In situations like that i tend to advance them the same as i would have otherwise, and treat the bonus as just an extra insurance. Strip Ball or Tackle certainly seem in order.

Thanks for the insight, its good to still have some time to think it over. So far the most appealing is the Griff route.. go doubles!

As to my league mate...

Hiding behind the Chaos Dwarves again - :D
How did your coach get the dodge skill by the way?
"Hey we need to get that Chaos vs. Skaven game in. Huh? You lost the sheet? You only have your Chaos Dwarf team sheet on you? I guess we can play that game AGAIN..." - Coaching Dodge Skill Successful :P

who else do you have on your team? depending on your answer to that, i might try different skills. although i do agree w/ most everyone on here that sure hands would be a good skill for offense. combine that w/ strip ball, and he's an excellent linebacker as well as fullback. maybe the skill you should take would be pass block, for when you're playing against passing teams. w/ ag4, he has double the chance to pick it off than an ag3. you have 4 blitzers, why not make one of them a saftey from hell. get either catch or NOS on a double for those pick attempts, and either strip ball or tackle on a normal to make the hit on the receiver if he catches it. just trying to think of something different on that one. or maybe tackle and shadowing, thinking along the same route.

You are going to need a Safe Throw somewhere in there.

Well my Star Human Blitzer aptly called Bovver is:-

7 3 4 7 Block, Dodge, +1 AG, Stand Firm, +1 normal skill to be decided.

Yes he has had very fortunate skill rolls. I can attest to my opponent's complete dislike of him - he just won a semi final basically on his own (2TDs and dodged into 3 TZs to blitz and cas the ball carrier).

Unfortunately before this he got -1 AV on an aging roll.... and just picked up a niggle on his latest aging roll :(

Anyway..... if you roll doubles there is nothing like an AG 4 blitzer with Stand Firm - if you get doubles again.... you know what to do!
