help beating amazons

okay the next match in my leauge is against a team of amazons. i am playing a dwarf team so far i haven't gotten many SPP's for my team (only a longbeared and blitzer with guard and a runner with a +MA) i also recently bought an ogre for my team and i was wondering what are some good ways to stop amazons from scoring with a dwarf team

you're a dwarf team. your next game is against amazons. you need help?

this is as easy as it gets! you have tackle, the big advantage to playing amazons is dodge. your tackle negates their dodge. if there was ever one team who had a hard time against one other team, it would be amazons versus dwarves.

just put your longbeards next to as many people as you can every turn and watch your opponent get annoyed. whack people with trollslayers, try to get people out of bounds with them.

Were I you, I'd blitz people every turn with the Longbeards unless you are lined up to push them out of bounds with the 'Slayers. The Longbeard's tackle will be invaluable to you.

Amazons are propably the best possible opponent for dwarves (well, excluding goblin and halfling teams)

They cannot use their best weapon, dodge, as you have tackle. Just get next to the amazons with as many players as you can, block and enjoy

I have been playing amazons for quite some time and I usually can get a draw or better against dwarves / chaos dwarves.
Of course, I tend to fail my dodge rolls anyway, so I do not dodge that much.
Against amazons: try and blitz with your longbeards, nog with your players without tackle. Take your time to score if you have the ball and make sure you have a deep defense if your opponents receives, because he is a bit faster than you.
Throw as many blocks as you can, in the end, you will win the war of attrition (Unless he throws casualties like me, my last game against chaos dwarves ended in a draw, but casualties was 4-0 for me

)

yeah i kinda forgot about tackle on my guys that will help i was more worried about not being able to catch them when they try and score thats what i was more worried about but i think i'll be fine if i keep tackle zones on them.

You shouldn't have too much trouble playing Dwarves against Amazons. Force them to dodge as much as possible and their 3+ dodges will catch up with them.

Not only should you blitz with your longbeards, you should spread them out so that the amazon team can't get through your line using the dodge skill.
So instead of putting blitzters and trollslayers only in the widezones, mix a little. For once, let the blitzers and trolls slayers be the side kicks assisting the longbeards i play!

This is a game I'd love to watch!

By the way how good is the amazon team?

Dwarves vs. Zons that is no problem. You might loose the match (i won a lot of my games against dwarves but i get badly hurt every time) but you'll gain some SPP's this match, cause you may inflict a lot of Cas.

Try to keep as much tackle zones on the girls as you can get. You have a lot of tackle and the dodges will suck up the girls re-rolls and the girls will hurt themselves from dodging away.

If your opponent kicks let him score quickly and score your TD at the end of the first half. You'll go into the second with 1-1 and (hopefully) with three players more on the pitch.
If you kick score very slowly two. So your opponent is forced two score quickly if he want to win the match. If he tries to go for a draw he'll attempt to score slowly too. But then you can beat the hell out of him and he will get desperate and will try to score.
If this game works normal you will get a typicall 2-1 win with a lot of Cas. for you.

Seriously, control the clock. Make them work a littl for the first touchdown but make real sure thay don't DARE stop running!
