Is now time to drop the nigglings?

I'm playing amazons in our local league.

They played 14 matches so far. I have got 15 players. The roster looks like this:

4 Blitzers (all with guard, two with mighty blow, one with tackle, one with ST4)
2 Catchers (both with block, one with a niggling)
1 Thrower (with block)
7 linewoman (6 with block, 2 with guard, one with AG4 and accurate and one with niggling)
Apoth.
5 RR
FF 11
TR 177

I'm thinking of droping the nigglings now. I used them for the LoS but now I have enough RR and players I think I can drop them without harm.
What do you think.

drop her now.
I probably would have dropped her ages ago anyway, but perhaps that is just me.

as an aside.. accurate on a linewoman? whatever for?

She's AG4. I'd have made her a runner, though, with sure hands or something similar.

I only see 14. But even still you could probably drop one safely.

She has gote AG4 and I wanted to have an option to do the passing game.
I don't use the thrower to make a passing game, only in emergency for a quick pass or such a thing.
I only roll 3s with the thrower so a quick pass is the only thing that works. :D

I have got 8 Linewoman, I have forgotten one.

pass would have been the statistically safer choice, I believe.

In any case, I'll keep thinking it's a waste of a double. throwers throw, linepeons assist. that's what they're there for.

eh, to each their own.

makes for a lot of flavour, though.

I would agree on every other team, but you really don't need a thrower on a amazon team. It was a mistake to buy the thrower. I wasted 20.000 gp for this. On an amazon team the linewoman can do the same as every position player (except the blitzers) backed up with a RR, and you always have enough RR's, cause they are really cheap. I use the AG4 linewoman only to pick up the ball and then pass it into the pocket formed with the guard players. This can do every other linewoman too, but with AG4 and accurate it is safe. The thrower has no sure hands. So why the thrower I asked myself after buying her. :pissed:
Too late :pissed:

well, depends on the number of games you've played an are going to play with that team...

I agree with you in the sense that a thrower is a waste on a starting team, but if you buy her later, the thrower can be the one in the pocket of guarders who scores... with a bit of luck, she'll have sure hands after one game. and 3+ with a skill rr is better then 2+ without.

is the way I did/do it with my woodies too... always tickles my funny bone, watching a catcher pass to a thrower :-)

That is correct I can use the thrower this way, scoring and sure hands with AG3 is safer than AG4.
But why a thrower, a linewoman can do this too.

I think I'm playing a very canny playstyle. Only picking up the ball, no passes only hand overs. Know I've got a an option to pass the ball on 2+ short pass range and I take it.

I wouldn't buy a thrower again, cause I don't need it. I always give one linewoman sure hands on the second skill roll. I always have won with that skill, but the last one died, so only the AG4 is left. I need one game and another block, dodge, sure hands linewoman will appear.

Only if you don't have a TRR.

I thought it was a rule that, if you use a trr on a pass, you'll fail the catch :P

okay, you're right, I'll put my dislike of accurate for non throwers down to a personal quibble then.

thingie.

That's true, this happens very often to me :pissed:

It's definitely safe to start replacing your nigglers.

Start with the players with the fewest skills - those will be the largest net benefit.
