3rd skill Dark Elf thrower

Post by UtakHai »

Hi everyone,

I rolled the 3rd skill for my Dark Elf Thrower after yesterdays match.
He already got Pass, Accurate and AG 5.
I managed to roll 12  but now I am not sure wether to go for St4 or to
pick strong arm as his next skill... Long Bomb on 2+ :P would be nice

Any advice????

thanks in advance

Utak

Take the ST! You now have a good option for the running game too.

I'd take the strenght too. He is good enough at throwing as it is.

There is AB-SO-LUTE-LY no need for 2+ long bombs. Be honest to yourself: How many long bombs have you made so far? Elves in general are fast enough to at least get into long pass range. And those few occasions where you HAVE to take a long bomb: Hey, it's a 3+ with skill reroll. Believe me, strong arm would be a perfect waste.

So on a normal double I would have suggested Nerves of Steel or something equally fancy. But since it was double six, hey, strength all the time!

Take the strength! This also increases your running play. Back up with block and/or dump-off and you have an unstoppable offense.

Since my St4 Blitzer with Blodge,Side Step, Strip Ball and Tackle died in the previous match (Nuffle sucks :puke: ), I decided to take St4 for my thrower.
I hope he will get block asap....

Sure, there is no need to take strong arm, it does not happen that often that I throw long bombs.
I really prefer the running game with my dark elves, so St upgrade should be the best advice...

Strength!!!!!! Long bomb on 3+ with a skill reroll is damn good anyway.

The ability to whack people and resist getting whacked back is priceless. Next skill either give him leap (leap into the cage whack the ball carrier) or block (nice safe ball carrier) or dodge (for the same reason - plus he can get into places, pickup the ball and get out again.

Go for ST+ This guy will be a heck of a defensive thrower.

Go for Pass Block next, you'll have an annoying back field defender that intercepts on a 4+ and has a good passing range to bring the ball down the pitch immediatly. With ST4 he can also attach to STR3 receivers and can't be blocked or blitzed off easily. Block, Dodge, Sidestep or Diving Tackle come to mind as additional skills afterwards, as a ST4 backfielder will most certainly have a long live.

as you can see from the above posts, the only problem you face now is that you have way too many options on where to take this guy... he could be the perfect running QB, a fantastic interceptor, someone who can scoop the ball of the pitch from anywhere.... too many possibilities!!! :D
