Hi all great site,
I'm an orc player and a great fan of the greenies. I've only played my brother before and he plays skaven. We don't play leagues as there are only two of us. We have both been playing for about 3 years though i think i've beaten him only twice.

Any tips in stomping those pesky rats, they are just too nippy!
Or am i just rubbish?
thanks

There should be some ammon in there for you, but the key is ball control and pounding. Hit him hard, hit him often. Foul with your expendable players (goblins). Don't let him control the clock (turn marker) set the pace for the game yourself.

Also, don't be to aggressive on the LoS when kicking to him. Have a few guys hanging back. Pesky rats are fast!

I play the greenskins too, but actually I've only been playing against skaven a few times. But maybe this will help:

If you receive:
Keep the ball on a blitzer, and defend that blitzer. You need to drag out time(turns), and only score untill the last second. Use the time to defend the ball carrier and f**k up his players!! all of them! especially his GR's and SV's

Optionally you (if you have gobbo's) can let the gobbo's score... make a fake play down to one side, let your thrower keep the ball, and run your gobbo down to the other side. Next turn pass it to the gobbo! Stunty is a great, great skill! And it is posible to make an orc team be a scoring team!

If you kick:
Do as Melifaxis said

Hope it helps you to win!

Skaven are generally pretty easy to take down if you get rid of their Gutter Runners.

As some of us are new here, please take this remark as being positive to show you on your way here.

If you have a question, do a search first. I does work very well I have to admit, IF you type the right query.
Second. Help as a titel doesn't explain much. Make sure you make clear in the titel what you really want, like: Need help for Orcs bashing up Skaven.

For the rest, welcome, learn and have fun! :smoking:

(PS, give them tackle. Skavens don't like that at bit they don't!)

On defence you should always be setting up a couple of blitzers in deep (so within range of the endzone and in a position to reach right out to the sidelines) and even if a ruck starts to develop resist the urge to bring these guys in towards the line of scrimmage. If you do he'll zoom past you and outpace you to the endzone with ease. You will have easily enough muscle to punch it out on the line, so leave the safeties back to discourage a running play - the longer he spends on indecision the more time you'll have to pummel him when you're not trying to move the ball, the best time. :)

On offence, it's always best to cage up and go slow against a fast team. Try to actually take 8 turns to score if you don't need an equaliser, otherwise they'll pop in a two-turner at the end of the half to take the lead with little you can do about it. Throwing/handing off/dodging with the ball all gives you high risks of turning it over and skaven are masters of the quick take-away score. Better to control the ball and risk taking too long or even failing to score than handing him a TD on your offence.

You'll find that if you deploy deep, hit hard and play sensible Orcs are the kings of defence and often score more there than when they receive! It's a great feeling to be going into the second half 1-0 up and knowing you're about to receive for the first time!

well, as coincidence has it, 15 minutes ago, I played skeven with my orcs.

I won 2-1 and killed one of his linerats.

he kicked and I stalled the TD until my last turn. He has a oneturnscorer (who was invulnerable for that game, 65 on handicap table) but didn't score in first half)
early in second half, he got his TD. the I stalled again until my last turn to score the winning TD...

...and that's the way you beat those pesky, stinking rats.

c

oh yeah, don't forget to hit them hard and always keep one or two players back as deep defense.
