Was about to reply to your PM, but it's probably better to do so here:

The error you get indicated the problem is somewhere between you and the server where the site resides. When you say you tried multiple computers, does that include multiple locations and ISP's (it could be an ISP is doing a bad job translating the URL into an IP address for you)?

Open a commandline box (on windows: start->run->cmd) en type:
ping www.midgardbb.com and see if it can find an IP addrees for you.

If its a network issue then PING is good

Code: Select all

C:\Documents and Settings\Ian>ping www.blood-bowl.net

Pinging blood-bowl.net [63.247.81.162] with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 63.247.81.162: bytes=32 time=212ms TTL=46
Reply from 63.247.81.162: bytes=32 time=212ms TTL=46
Reply from 63.247.81.162: bytes=32 time=214ms TTL=46
Reply from 63.247.81.162: bytes=32 time=213ms TTL=46

Ping statistics for 63.247.81.162:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 212ms, Maximum = 214ms, Average = 212ms
If that doesn't work (i.e. you get something like this)

Code: Select all

C:\Documents and Settings\Ian>ping www.blood-bowl.net
Ping request could not find host www.blood-bowl.net. Please check the name and try again.
then try nslookup

Code: Select all

C:\Documents and Settings\Ian>nslookup www.blood-bowl.net
Address: 61.9.194.49

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: blood-bowl.net
Address: 63.247.81.162
Aliases: www.blood-bowl.net

Thanks all - I've tried multiple computers, so it does seem to be a server problem. Will try pinging later. Made it on with a proxy server, in the mean time. All a bit technical for me though!

Galak's told me how to fix the problem, so I'll get to it as soon as I can.
I only fixed it yesterday

What do you mean?

Just checked and its up.

And I don't see any unresolved emails of folks asking for access approval for their logins.

Basically one day I tried going to the fumbble website and i wasn't able to get to the website (i.e. it wouldn't load.)

Any advice on how to sort this out would be most appreciated.

FUMBBL and MBBL are totally different leagues.

FUMBBL has been down for over a week and will be so for another 2 weeks or so as Christer (the guy who runs fumbbl) is moving house.

I dunno about MBBL, but i've just logged into the site and it's seems to be working fine.

I can field that one.... MBBL is nothing to do with FUMBBL. Nothing, actually we hate each other (well, not really).

FUMBBL is temporarily down due the site owner moving house, there are several threads about it spread over this site :) While it is down we have set up an alternative chat channel and continue to play some games during the downtime. Check out this thread.
