Hi all....
I'm quite new
and I'm thinking of starting a new BB -team..... (currently playing Humans & Orcs from the beginners-box) and I want to start with Dark Elves.....
I was thinking of
7 Linemen (490K)
1 Thrower (90K)
2 Blitzers (200K)
1 Witch Elf (110K)
1 Re-roll (50K)
6 FanFactor (60k)
=
1.000.000Gp
so is there anybody who would like to give me some tips/advice/tactics???:-?

Standard Dark Elf line up is usually 2 Blitzers, 9 linemen, 2 re-rolls and 7 fan factor.. You really need that extra re-roll, plus with just two positional players you aren't as likely to lose key players with no apothecary. You will find Dark Elves more foregiving and easier to play with than the Humans and Orcs - its just the player turnover that you have to watch. Have fun

Hello!
I'd drop at least the thrower and the witchelf, and buy instead an extra reroll. Starting with 2 blitzers is nice.
If you are going to play a long running league, I would consider to start with 11 Lineelves, FF9 and 3 RR. I just did that in our current league and it went absolutely perfect. (But that is a personal preference I guess)
Next thing to buy: Apo (you'll probably need that, with some bashy teams around)
I wouldn't buy a witch elf before you have at least 3 blitzers which will be a perfect support for the witch. Blitzers are your key players.
Throwers are nice to have later but are not really necessary since every player on your team makes a decent thrower with AG 4....
Just my thoughts about starting a Dark Elf team...

It all depends on what you want to do with the team. In a long-term league I suggest 11 linos 3 rr 8 ff or 10 linos, 1 bl, 2rr, 9ff, 10k left for apo to buy after 1st match. If you just want to get the feeling for darkies go for 2bl, 1 we, 1 th, 7 lino, 2 rr, 1ff. A team you can play right out of the box, all kinds of pos-pl, but not recomended for leagues (low ff, thrower not needed on a starting-roster, blitzer are safer to play and cheaper than we....). For a single match you don't need a high ff, but you will need two rr.
Have fun

since I started playing blood bowl, DE have been my main race, and I have tried all the Cockerel of above, and others aswell.
It has alot to do with your personal style, but if I where giving myself advice, i would state the following:
-Never buy throwers (you dont really need them, and they tend to suck up spp). Only consider them if you have a specific strat that you really would like to try.
-Always, always start with a high FF. (Otherwise you will never afford all the positional players you want. And you want em ALL..

).
-In a rookie league, DE linemen with that AG4 are very good, you dont need to many pos. players.
-In a mature league, more bl. are a good idea, but dont buy we until you can protect them properly.
(My personal fav. Cockerel for a rookie league is 10 linemen, 1 blitzer, 2rr, 9 ff and 10k. This way you have room for the rest of the pos. players you want on your Cockerel, ie 5 spots(3 bl, 2 we, not counting throwers, see above), you will get your apoth quickly and you still have that blitzer for that extra edge. (make sure to let him score twice your first game if you can)). What I lack in this Cockerel is speed, but ive learned to compensate. And that blitzer always come in handy.
Hope it helps.

If you're not playing in a league (like many newbs) then your roster is ok, but for a league I would definately recommend the rosters given by the other guys here.
Dark Elves need a lot of money as they can buy 6 positionals worth 100k or more (and you'll want all 6 of them). Best way to do this is to start with 9 fan factor: more ff means more winnings. Secondly you'll want those rerolls from the start because then they'll only cost you 50k whereas once the league starts they'll cost 100K (and you need all your money to buy those expensive players). Lastly you need money to replace dead players because, well, elves break easily and blood bowl is a brutal sport.
ps: always nice to see another compatriot here!
