Dark Elf Starting team
What do you folks use as a starting roster for Dark Elves.
I was thinking
3 Blitzers
8 Linemen
1 RR
9 FF
Any better suggestions?

Erm, you'll need more re-rolls than 1. I suggest two possible starting line-ups... there is the radical re-roll heavy line-up:
11 linemen
3 re-rolls
8 fan factor
Or the "Hey I need someone with Block" line-up:
2 blitzers
9 linemen
2 re-rolls
7 fan factor
All other line-ups seem to leave you too low on re-rolls or too low on FF. (I'm presuming this is for a league... if not, feel free to experiment with lower FF.)

Martyn's right. AG 4 is really nice, but you can't forget the elven curse. A few rerolls will really go a long way. Also, Dark/High Elf linemen are really pretty good, so don't discount the all lineman line-up. It will spread a few SPPs around before you bring in those positional players who were just made to rack them up.martynq wrote:Erm, you'll need more re-rolls than 1. Good luck and have fun.

I'd go with the radical "need reroll" lineup. At least that way all the money you'll be spending will be for players at actual value, instead of rerolls at an inflated price later. Plus, you should get some decent line elfs in the long run out of this model.

Or go with 1 blitzer and keep 10k change.martynq wrote: 11 linemen

Buy the apoth after the 1st game, then start buying positional players - I'd get 4 blitzers before buying a thrower or witch elves.
In any case you need to get SPPs onto your line elves before the positional players begin to dominate passing and scoring. Once you've got a few Block/Dodgers your team will become extremely annoying to play against.

I went with the "need blocker" lineup last season. Besides having one blitzer die in the preseason (on a 1 'poth roll, no less), I had a great time playing the team. One thing about buying your rerolls later is that it will lower your TR a bit (you spend 100k (10 TR) to get 50k worth of rerolls. You net a 5 point drop in TR, which can be handy at times.
I didn't buy a passer until the middle of the season, since I ran a mostly running and defensive game. With 4AG, everybody can throw. Although now that I have an AG5 thrower, my team has a pretty good passing game.
The Dark Elves, with blitzers and (eventually) witch elves, are very well suited to a defensive game. They can dodge into good position, exert tackle zones, knock over key players, and take the hits too (8 AV). I had a pretty good time knocking the ball loose and scoring on my opponent's drive.

I like the idea of the 11 linemen team. I would think you are going to lose your first few games, but once you got rolling you would be tough to stop. Another idea would be to go Fan Factor heavy, which is the most valuable thing to start with because you can't buy it later. Having the FF edge on your opponent is important, because it can earn you RR and CAS during the game that would otherwise go to your opponent. I personally cannot play without a blitzer, but then again that is just me.

And now for something completely different...
The picture doesn't help, so I gotta ask...
Amon Tobin + Front 242 = Amon242...?
Or are there 241 other "Amon"s lurking around here?

Thats a pretty good guess, the Front242 part is right, I wanted to just use Amon on AIM, but it was gone, so now its Amon242.BadMrMojo wrote:Amon Tobin + Front 242 = Amon242
