Ohhhh noooo! Not another one...

Hello everyone!

Being yet another one of those stupid newbies I just wanted to say hi!

I'm new to Bloodbowl even though I did fool around with minis a little when I was younger (wow I still love the illusionist spells from old whfb). So far I've played afew test games (oh boy that hurt!) and tried some games on the net with the same excellent results.

Just to prove that I'm a real newbie I'll fire some stupid questions at you:

I've found a league and they are happy to have someone to beat around, so now all I need is a team. Since I got the plastic players from the box i figured I'd start a human team.

6 linemen
2 throwers
2 catchers
2 blitzers
9 FF
3 RR

I'd like to drop one of the throwers (and perhaps a catcher) for extra blitzers but I lack the minis.
What I am considering is dropping a lineman for an extra reroll or an apothcary. Would that be wise?

Does anyone know if I can buy extra plastic guys from mailorder? I've tried to mail them but they are as quick and efficient as always so I dont expect an answer from them this side of Easter. If Mo is a nono, does anyone know where else I can get some? I've tried ebay w/o much success.

I am happy to have found this lovely forum. It seems like a friendly place to hang around (enough fattery, now help me out :D )

Thanks in advance!

I'd say the best thing is to just use a thrower fig as a blitzer for now. (If you paint the blitzers bases the same colour - something Phil will approve of - then you know they are the same.)

I don't know that you can get hold of plastic figs. You can order individual metal figs without any difficulty.

There should be lots of helpful comments in the Tactics section of the message boards.

Hope that gets you started!

I'm new to Blood Bowl too and was actually pretty happy to find a GW game that actually came with everything you need to have some real games.

Recently my pets pulled an assited foul on my plastic orcs. The cat got up on the painting table and knocked them down to the pug below and she then chomped them up. I was quite upset because although I am heavily into converting for 40k and Fantasy I actually like that in BloodBowl the figures look alike so you can quickly make sense of a scattered field. (The colored bases idea didn't occur to me) So the point is that I emailed GW US mailorder and they said you can order the plastics that come in the boxed set.
You can order those sprues. They are $10 each.

Welcome to the board.

The team looks pretty good, extra Blitzers will serve you well but you will have to drop FF or a re-roll as well to swap a thrower or catcher for a Blitzer, possibly not a good idea.

Your team actually looks like how I would start a human team although someone with more experience may suggest slightly different.

Personally I would keep the lineman and make the apothecary your first purchase, it's best to have a player in reserve and humans are fairly tough, you should be able to survive a couple of games before you buy the apothecary.

Good luck
