Lucy posted it at http://bloodbowl.denes.nl/dutch.open/rules.pl
I'm assuming its something Lucy got through the mail.

Just remembered where I'd seen it (Dutch open tournament site).

As for mailing him - I have. No reply yet.

there was an occasion when you complained when threads used languages other than English. The post before someone asked that the thread be kept in English because there might be Finns coming, and not all of them speak Swedish.

Really can't see the point of questioning Daves' ability to fulfill the role of the NTO for Sweden. From what I've seen, Dave speaks excellent swedish, lives there so why couldn't he be an NTO? So what if he's an ex-pat!

And the fact is that whenever there's a thread in some other language than english, a bunch of non-speakers-of-that-particular-language jump in howling about how they can't understand it, as if a BB topic in a foreign language is a call-sign for OT language discussion (check the first page of this thread for an excellent example). So I can perfectly understand why Thadrin prefers sending messages here in english rather than swedish - to avoid getting replies like the one longfang posted in the beginning of this thread.

No offence meant to anyone.

Swedish Championships at Lincon 2003??

Post by Reventlov »

Well, I'll try to write this in english. I have got the email from NAF as mentioned above, but due to my work I haven't had time to respond yet. I will do that later this week.

This is a summary of the rules I will use:

* 5 round of swiss and then top 4 elimination

* Buy an official team for 1.100.000 gps

* No SI or deaths, each round with the same team (almost)

* No Star players or Wizards

*Potential goblin players may use some Star players, email me for exact rules

*Halfling Masterchef allowed for 150.000gps

*Before tournament you distribute 4 skills to your team. One of these may be a Trait. Only skills and traits a player normally can take are allowed. Only one upgrade per player.

*After each round of swiss one player gets a bonus skill. Still no player may have more than one extra skill.

Points for wins, losses and so on will be anounced at the start of tournament. Painting, team composition and fair play will have an impact on points too.

Hope that helps. email any questions.

An important thing: when is the tournament going to take place? Does it last the entire con, or only certain days? As it seems that the con is in the middle of the week, it will be hard for many people to come if the tournament is extended over several days. I, for one, can't come unless it's situated in a 1-2 day timeframe. I'm already taking 3 weeks off from work in June to go to a holiday in Africa, so it'd be hard to take an entire week more just to get to play BB...

Lincon will be held 28th of May to 1st of June 2003.

The 29th is a holiday in Sweden and everybody is free from work and school. That's why.

The tournament will start at 10.00 29th.

29th 2-3 rounds of swiss
30th 2-3 rounds of swiss
31th Semifinal and final. (Might be 30th too)

You have to pay for the whole convention. No exceptions.
But there is time to play other games. I will for sure.
Email any questions.

*checks his calender*
He's right you know. I hadn't realised but the 29th is Krist Himmelfärds dag (thats ascension day to you English-only speakers).

I'll see if I can't get the friday off...Don't think we get Klämdagar at my workplace (Klämdag = a day between two free days. many people get these off. I did at my last job, dunno about my current one.)

I should be able to make it for at least the 29th in that case. If I can't stay for the rest I can get the results later after having inducted everyone who does play into the NAF fold.

This of course depends on how much the Con costs as a whole.

That's called Helatorstai around here and it's a free day also IIRC... so there is a slight chance that I could come - depends on how affordable the trip is otherwise. It could be quite expensive, especially if I don't get student discounts in Sweden...

Reventlov: Are there some kind of fliers or booklets with sign-up information for this year's LinCon to come? Maybe some web-based registration? I, for one, would be very much interested.

Thadrin: Would be fun to team up with you or some of your mates for a practice game. Do you have some place where you play regularily?

Ungdomenshus (Svartbäcksgatan) on a monday there are usually a few folk playing, but you'd need to arrange a game with someone really.

I play in two leagues in Uppsala. Games are usually at people's homes:

and

Drop me a PM and we can get together for a game

Thadrin: Cool, I'll do that, just have to get an afternoon/evening off first.

I just found LinCon's home page (through www.sverok.se) and signed up. To my disappointment I found that the Blood Bowl league was "unofficial". Does this mean it isn't NAF sanctioned either? Or is it just a fluke of the webmaster?

Don't have time to anything about officially sanctioning it at the moment - won't do until I get my computer situation at home sorted out. I can say that the tournament is 99.999% certain to be NAF approved.

It costs 200 swedish crowns, for all or nothing. (since somebody asked). Id be surprised if you dont get studentdiscounts. (since somebody else asked)

Sleepinquarters will be arranged for those who needs it i guess. But its not a Nordic Championship, but a Swedish Championship. (open swedish championship it should be called i guess). :)
