The GBBL (Geordie Blood Bowl League) are proud to announce the innaugral GeordieBowl will be happening this September in Newcastle Upon Tyne! Making it's debut on the UK Tournament scene, GeordieBowl will be hosted at the New Northumbria Hotel. Situated a couple of minutes drive from the city centre, it features not only the gaming room, but also a hotel, Italian restaurant, free car parking and (most importantly) a pub within steps of the venue!

"Whats it all about then?"

This will be a NAF sanctioned 2 day event, with six games of fun to be had by all! Highlights will include:

- A unique skill system based around your teams exploits in the Toon! They start off well, but over the weekend of drink and partying seem to get steadilly worse...
- A wandering thug making his way around the bottom tables, fans of Viz won't be dissapointed!
- A free buffet on Sunday afternoon, to soak up the Saturday night!
- Discounted rooms available from the hotel. We've negotiated twin rooms that are usually £95 a night for £70 per night including full English breakfasts! (PM me for details of how to book)
- Spot prizes every round, as well as the traditional (and not so traditional) trophies and prizes.

"Sounds great! How do I Enter?"

The cost of this fantastic weekend of Bloodbowl is £25 (£30 for non-NAF members). Depending on the number of entrants we expect there to be the possibility of partial refunds if we achieve a high enough number of coaches. This price includes the buffet on Sunday as well don't forget!

To enter, please PM me here, or mail us at GeordieBowl@yahoo.co.uk. Payment is preferred by Paypal to that same e-mail address, but can also be made by cash (posted at your own risk) or cheque, please PM me for details.

"Why should I come?"

We're hoping to lay on the sort of tournament you want to book your place at the next year as soon as you get home! Like yourselves, we play this game for the fun, the relaxation and the social aspect just as much as the winning. We'll be going out of our way to make sure you have the very best time while you're here, and that you get to sample ALL that Newcastle has to offer!

For those who have never been up to the North East, the experience is worth the trip alone! The venue is smack bang in the middle of a busy party street full of bars and restaurants, and if we feel the need its a five minute taxi ride from Newcastle's famous Quayside, Station, and Bigg Market. Bring the missus along for the shopping if it seals the deal, the MetroCentre (UK's largest indoor shopping centre) is a ten minute drive! ;)

Rulespack to follow shortly. ANY questions please contact us by e-mail at GeordieBowl@yahoo.co.uk. Let the abuse begin...

Just to add - this really is a brilliant location. Osborne road is lined with bars and restaurants and as big Dave says, is THE party street on Tyneside. There's loads of places to grab a quick bite to eat and even a 24 hour bakery (if you get peckish at 4am). The legendary Toon centre is 10 mins on the tube, or a quick taxi ride away.

Speaking as a GBBL member, we hope lots of you will make the trip up north. Hopefully peeps who have attended Monkeybowl in the North East will consider coming to this one too. Newcastle is really easy to get to by train in particular - it takes a little more than 3 hours to get to Newcastle from London.

Shouldn't matter to you mate, you don't have permission to go to either!

Does sound good though, if I've not saved enough to make it to the land of Clog I will seriously consider this one as a hopefully cheaper alternative...
