However you play online - Java, Vassal, Email, Cyanide etc - talk about it here.
This is also the place for discussing the various tools for managing leagues, teams and so on.

Not wanting to Necro old threads...

Post by Mangonis »

Is there any current db. program, or good spreadsheet out there that one can manage leagues, tourneys and leagues? Preferably one with PBBL support, such as being able to recalc team value with the new values of normal vs. doubles vs. ability increases.

The nuffle project seems d.o.a. The spreadsheets I"ve seen are either too simple or too much of a hassle to try to figure out how to hack it up and slice it back together. (Esp. since I use OpenOffice and Excel macros don't always match up neatly.) Ideally I figure there would be some way to have a MySQL engine work in cooperation with some php and a few forms and then everyone in the league could simply have their rosters online, report the matches, and all the commish would have to do is tweak variables.

Would it be possible to use the pbem tool for this without playing the game by e-mail? Currently the group is fairly small, but spread out over a large area, making it hard to centralize the paperwork. But I figure everyone has web access in some sense, so would be easy enough for them to schedule matches and then report them back at the same spot.

Thanks for any suggestions or help. As far as technical expertise, well let's just say the last programming I did was in PASCAL, OOP is beyond the grasp of this old man's perception of reality...
