El Condor, Draco, Norse, Malcom and junior Gorbad are going to make havoc in Belgium.

The "Blue Arrow" will bring along Da Green Squad! :D
You do realize that I am older than Norse and Malcolm? Although, granted, not by as much as you and Ye Olde Condor.

Can anyone explain the rules to me?

Are the 2 skills you get on random player the only two skills you get or do the normal rules of gaining skills still count too?

What about the cash? Used as normal to buy apo/new players and stuff?

I'm just curious how it's going to be, I never played a tournament before.... :-? but I'm ready to have my cherry picked

that's a good qwquestion and one i'll be able to answer after i've actually read the rules.

more likely it'll be along the lines that you can pick a skill for a player after each match but i'll check now.

just read the rules and it's going to be an interesting one

step 1 - contruct the team using 1.1 million gold pieces (instead of your normal 1 million)

step 2 - after each game randomly select 2 players from your team who will then be given a skill (and not a trait, just a normal skill). bob down whatever you need to take.

step 3 - oooh we're at game 3. now the way i read this (and what normally happens) you can either give 2 players a skill again or 1 player a trait. i peresume that this is still random.

step 4 - have some fun playing some bb

step 5 - after it's all finished get some drinks and relax with some friendly chatter 8)

hopefully someone from the organisational side will set me straight about the game 3 thing (the two skills or 1 trait thing) but essentially that's what will happen. basically this skill progression is quite normal. saves on all the book work of remembering who scored what spp's. it's just easier this way.

andy

Actually I think you can choose 1 skill and trait or two skills on the two random players.

Most simple thing to do is copy the rules here!

the way I see it you get two random players after round three as well. One get's a skill, the other also but may opt for a trait instead. The choice of who gets the trait of the two randomly picked is yours.

The ruleset:

Tournament Information
The tournament will be run under the latest Living Rule Book 4.0. rules. Players are required to bring their own blocking dice, their own models and their own playing board! In addition, everyone must bring TWO copies of their teamsheet along.

No Star Players, Freebooters or Wizards will be allowed.
Scoring system:
Win 4 pt
Draw 2 pt
Loss by 1 TD 1 pt
Loss by >1 TD 0 pt

In addition, after the last round 'painting' points will be awarded and 'sportsmanship' points as well. These will not constitute a huge amount of points, but might just tip the scale...

Teams can be constructed with 1,100,000 gp.
All players are expected to bring an official Bloodbowl board and blocking dice, as well as their team of course!

There will be five rounds in total (3 on saturday, 2 on sunday). We aim to have each round finished in about 2 hours. Failing that both players will have to speed up considerably and a strict 4 minute-per-turn rule will then be enforced. No overtime will be played.

After the game, your team is healed and 2 of your players will gain a skill. Which players, is decided randomly by rolling a dice). The skills can only be chosen from the 'normal' skill categories, no traits! After round 3 however, you may choose to assign a trait to one player, instead of a skill.

Pairing will be Swiss Style. Players cannot play the same opponent twice.

Illegal procedure will only be in effect if BOTH players agree beforehand on it!

SPECIAL HALFLING RULE: Halfling teams get their Master Chef for free, in addition they may spend 60.000 Gold per extra ingredient for the Chef. Each extra ingredient will allow the halflings another reroll-stealing dice roll.

There will also be a small price for best painted team.

Yeah it tends to favour amazons, dwarves and also khemri and undead I think. Honour demands me to bring my khemri to defend the title but I don't really feel like it though. :-? I think I'll go dwarves instead. Just to be sure my chances of losing to halflings are minimal.
