well.. tell him that last year all of the beer got drunken that was in the whole pub.. that should give him a warm fuzzy feeling.. if he is at least a bit of a business man ;-)
I did, that's why he's warming to the idea. I just didn't tell him everything, yet...

Ok, I've finished my first PbeM practice match using my Skaven and I won :) . Then again, I only just won and it was against Chaos so I'm not convinced that the Demons are the ones to take... :-?

Anyone else up for PbeM practice matches for the Dutch Open 06? On Monday I'm back at work so will only be able to play one or two turns in a day max but up until then I'm lazing around at home and can play loads!

I think I've narrowed it down to either Norse or Skaven. My two practice matches so far have not really helped me decide as my Skaven beat (well only just beat really :oops: ) a Chaos team so I'm not convinced about the roster and my Norse team is going to beat (well make that 'should' beat) a Dwarf team as I'm 1-0 up at half time and he's down to 9 Dwarfs while I still have 12 Norse and I'm receiving.

C'mon, more test games!!!

PM me your e-mail address and I'll send you over a game file with one of my teams loaded in....

Bring on your norse and pitch them against my chaos team for comparison :) They won't be much harder to bring down than those awful gutter runners but at least they'll have more difficulty handling the ball :)

The most important question is where are we going to watch the Superbowl Sunday night? :wink:

Well more on that after next sunday. I'm going to a sportsbar (Coco's, see earlier in this thread) to watch the Panthers-Giants game and ask around to find out how busy (or quiet) it will be there during the 'superbowl. The problem is the phenomenon 'Sports Bar' hasn't fully evolved yet in Holland, so your choices of pubs will be very limited.

Another option is the 'Old Legendz' will show it, but personally I think that's unlikely;'
Will be continued next week;

If it does become 'more likely', tell the guy that we drank the place dry last year... stocks need to be bought! :wink:

OK;

I think Yavatol will contact the new Legendz (Drink Inn) owner, and ask if he's willing to broadcast the Superbowl. Mind you: this means the SB has to be broadcasted by a dutch cable network, since the place has no Sky or NASN.

As the alternative I suggest you guys go to http://www.cocosoutback.com. This place is big, has Sky and NASN, the atmosphere is quite nice and the beer is cold (they have frozen Pints there :D ). In addition: it's easy to reach from the venue with tram 9.
I asked around yesterday - during the boring-as-hell Panthers-Giants game - and the owner recommended being there about an hour before kick-off, so you'll have nice seats. That means 11 pm, SB starts at midnight.

Unfortunately due to problems at work (grrrr!) Mr and Mrs Stick will not be able to make it to the Dutch Open this year. ( :( email sent to organisers).

Hope to meet you Euro guys at overseas tourneys later in the year, and hopefully at some UK ones if you can make it.

Next stop for the Sticks is the Waterbowl in Manchester. See Y’all then.

Mr and Mrs Stick

Yes indeed that is a shame, but cheer up, there are enough tournaments left this year! :D You'll be bound to visit one of them for sure! (and otherwise just kick you boss out! :lol: )

You mean 'Teasers' on the Damrak????
That place is just for tourists :zzz: :wink:

I don't think they have Sky there (You are supposed to watch something else), but even if: That place is just horrible: always fighting in there and an very agressive atmosphere.

Then again: maybe that;s just what you Northern Monkeys are looking for... :)
