Ok, this is only a tester at the moment.

How manny people would be willing and able to make it to the land of the Haggis for a weekend of GBH (Great Bloody Haggis).

And when would be a popular time. Looking at the 2006 Calendar, January and July looks the emptiest. So, Edinburgh and Snow, or Edinburgh and no snow.

Unless anyone has other suggestions for a time.

As long as it was middle to end of July I would be up for it.

Tulips start of July
Newquay Bowl start of August but in between I am cool

January is Poobowl.

But if you were to hold it into July and move it to London I'd come. :)

Hi Hoomin,

I vote for either, or both! Though I voted for July for personal reasons. I'll come whenever and try to recruit the rest of my league as well.

Seriously, both have their benefits. January is often a horrible month temperature and weather wise and could make those dashes between venue and pub a lot more unpleasant. But on the other hand post hogmoney in January the Burgh tends to get very quiet tourist-wise and that could make accommodation a lot easier for people to find and afford.

July is a much nicer time to be here, but full of flipping tourists.

Good work on the tournament though.

Isnt the Fringe in July? Too many people in Edinbourgh.

If my plans work properly, and it's in July...probably i'll attend.

I could probably do either January or July, but put January from fond memories of student-hood in Auld Reekie with snow on the meadows and not a stag party in sight, so nice quiet pubs for a relaxing pint or few of heavy!

The only problem i can forsee is it is right inbetween Tulips and College of Magic, or clashes with 1 of them

probably been discussed before but this is the problem now, the calendar is getting too full. It can be considered a good thing, but more tourneys = overall lower attendances which may hit some tournaments hard.

Not trying to put you off at all, just sympathising with the problem of when to hold it.

The problem for me (and I know we've discussed this previously Hoomin) is that Scotland is well out the way for a lot of folks. If anything, it would put people off going in the winter. So that leaves the summer option which in turn means colliding with every other major tourney across Europe - apart from a noteable few big 'uns.

I was looking for the "both" option but couldn't find it :D Either one works for me but having more than one event up here per year would be rather spanky.
