Legendz has gone so now we need a new bar to accomodate the horde.
If the majority of people are staying at the hostel in vondal park then a bar around Liedseplien area would be good. We need somewhere as a meeeting place and somewhere to watch the superbowl. Somwhere that lets us smoke hash would be good two.
So anyone with local knowedge suggest anywhere?

We're working on this as well.
We need a place with a few tables and they should be able to host around 50+ people on saturday.
Suggestions appreciated.

And I thought it was for the international flare of that tourney that so much people show up.
If we have learned one thing than this, no city atracts more friendly people than amsterdam.
So host the WC there and you will get mor than one team from each country.

Longfang, you raise an important point.
Also, what's the word on the "first" venue? I mean, we need somewhere to actually play some games of BB, right? I still have to book lodgings and I'd like a place that's within walking (or stumbling) distance of both the venue and the watering hole. Quite hard to do when the location of neither one is confirmed yet..
Also Also, who's going to the DO and has a wants/haves list? I'll bring my "haves" along for the evenings and hope to meet folks who have what I want, minis wise. I think it's nice to trade minis at some place where you can buy them off folks for drinks..

Watering hole venue will be:
P96.
Opens at 19:00 for us and stays open until 03/04:00. Many tables, but a few usable for playing a game. (Legendz is no more

)
Location: Prinsengracht 96.
Tram 13, 14, and 17 stop there. It's one stop behind Dam palace.

I suppose everybody should follow Donovan.
He knows where the fun will be when that starts.

Concerning The Superbowl:
Since Legendz (and the Pakistani/Punjabi version of it

) no longer exists, NFL fanatics will find themselves in a tight spot, since neither the NFL nor the concept of a Sports Bar is highly celebrated in Holland.
However: do not despair. There are some pubs which will show the game.
As i've said in earlier threads, i recommend Coco's Outback on the Thorbeckeplein (
http://www.cocosoutback.com). It's a big pub, they serve Frozen Pints and if you're lucky, the staff will serve you some Jagermeister shooters.[/url]

There's a HUGE sportsbar where we watched the Germany/Argentina match this summer somewhere nearby... never will forget the incredible crowd and the look of stunned disbelief on Sputnik's face when Germany won.... priceless!

ok just off rembrandtsplien. Close enough to vondel park, 15 mins stagger with the wind behind you, past the flower market and up to Leidseplien.
Cheers

I would have prefered a Saints/Colts SuperBowl but I'll be there to watch the game too !

Hey, I would have prefered a Ravens/Niners Superbowl, but such is life.
At least I have a University of Florida Rex Grossman shirt, so I guess I know who I will be cheering on
