Idea: pennons/ pennants for your opponent

I just finished my first Tournament (BembelBowl) and think I might post this idea I had and followed through, since my opponents seemed to like it (not sure if it had been done before):
I made a little pennant/ pennon of my team for every opponent I was going to encounter, so they would have a little memory of the game.

Edit: I am not sure, which term is the right one, since I came across both terms: pennon and pennant. So I first went with only pennon. Pug pointed me to pennant again.

So what is the difference between the two terms?

I've never heard the word pennon before ever.

It's a nice idea though not sure what I would actually do with it from a practical stand point.

One and the same..Pennon is mainly chivalric terms....Knights lance flags....heraldric tapestries etc etc....very old word
