An Umber Hulk I Painted Up

Here is an old Umber Hulk I painted last night and the night before. The base needs finishing but I like to wait until I have sprayed my minis with a proctetive caoting before flocking the bases. I am thinking of using him to represent a troll or something in my games of Blood Bowl. Does anyone have any ideas on what he would best represent in BB?

Anyway let me know what you think about the paint job and what he could be used as.

I like your paintjob. But those blue highlights on his body need more colour steps to achieve a better blending with the base colour. Especially true for his right arm.

Is it a normal BB base or a Big Guy base ? It's hard to estimate it's size without anything for comparision.

He is on a 40mm round base. Next time I post photos I will put something in the shot for size comparison.

Meradanis that problem with the highlight color is a recurring one for me. I am still trying to work out a system to do it very smoothly but also make it "pop" nicely.

This was the old Ral Partha Umber Hulk? Did the Ral Partha one have mandibles?

It's not Ral Partha. RAFM I think. This one originally has mandibles, too.
I have this mini somewhere but not painted.

It was made by grenadier. Originally it had a cast on base that I clipped off, and shattered the legs and feet in the process. I had to glue three out of six toe talons back on and, after several attempts with just glue, pin and greenstuff the lower legs back onto the upper part. This little bastich almost ended up in the trash he was so screwed up but I am glad I stuck with it and am pretty pleased with the finished product. As for the mandibles I never had any, my brother, who I inherited this mini from, never did either, and the pics of this mini I found online also do not have any on them. I can see the pits beside the mouth being mounting points for some however. I bet it would be exceptional if you could find the mandibles for it.

Ah, yes. Grenadier it was.
I still have one of the mandibles! Good for copying the other one with greenstuff. Here's a pic of the complete mimi:

The pic is not showing up for me, it's just the white box with red x, can you post an adress to it as I would love to see the complete miniature.

Seems like Bonehead's webspace doesn't like direct linking. I made an upload on my webspace for you.
