I think we can train it all the way,
Edinburgh - London - Brussels - Ostend. Looks about £250 - £300 at a very casual first glance
For one person? Maybe you can come by car and whould be lot cheaper. Just cross the chanel. At the belgian coast.

Ferry from Scotland to Holland?

Train is too expensive. Roads from Scotland are bad (which Scotsman would you trust to drive after a weekend of Belgian Beer?). The only passenger ferry from Scotland to Europe stopped running 3 years ago. So we will need to find our way to the nearest international airport, Brussels ? and take a train from there to Oostende.

I was just looking at this and and it is the train bit London-Bruxelles-Oostende part I find a bit circuitous i.e. at Calais go ~90 miles to Bruxelles to go ~60miles to Oostende when visually if you change at Calais you would go ~50 miles along the coast direct to Oostende.

Any more seasoned continental travllers able to comment on whether Eurostar and then change at Calais rather than Bruxelles would be more time and as importantly cost effective?

Cheers,
Dave

Us Welshies are currently thinking minibus hire and ferry from Dover is probably going to be our best/cheapest bet. Just need to meet up somewhere UK side, bundle in and head on the boat. Thinking a 16 seater for an 8 man team might just about have enough room for us and all of the beer we want

There are at least three of us in Bristol who definitely want to be going to Belgium (i.e. we want to go, have had GF/wife sign-off and think we will have the cash but it is 11 months away :D ), do you think there would be scope for the bus making a stop in Bristol on its way east; you could put some of the beer on our laps so we don't take up too much room

Funnies aside, do you think there would be scope for us in Bristol combining travel with you?

Co-incidentally, I was in Belgium just a couple of weeks ago. Return flights from Edinburgh to Brussels were about £100-£140, return train tix from airport to Ostend are about £40 currently.
Alternatively, I've had a very quick look at the ferry from Hull to Bruges which seems to be about £220 per car or £450 for a minibus. Travel times are much more restrictive tho', leaves about 6pm and arrives at 9am both ways.

don't forget there is an airport for Oostende.

(most of destinations are south of Europe: Spain; Greece, Turkey & Tunisia so i could be nice for spanish coachs for exemple)

Well, I don't know where else to put it:
Germany has selected the Captain.
Oventa will succeed Sputnik as captain for 2014 eurobowl.
Teamforming in Progress.
So if anybody can give me access to the captains forum, I don't mind :)

We are working on a statement and this will be very soon.

But I can tell you that the people in the Eur'open will have the same deal as the people on the eurobowl.

There will be no difference at all.
