Skaven or Chaos are both good options, both for the conversion possibilities that mutations allow and the less ordered nature of the team making the variety of color interpretations and painting styles a better fit. I can imagine an elf team with that much variety in style looking quite out of place.

I dunno, a mate is trying to make a HE team out of 40k harlequins, and they'll all have different colours.

Suppose it'll either look really good or total crap

I think you all are missing the point here, any team has possibilities for conversions, we don't need to pick a team just on that one aspect. Not everyone is going to want to do a converted piece, those that do, will, no matter what team it is (e.g. Anthony's flying gobbo). So we don't have to pick a team that has mutations, supposadly for the conversion factor, nor do we have to do a team that is 100% conversions (such as the lame convict team idea). Pick a team that will be fun to do, ie figs that people would like to paint (this would leave out Amazons as the lack of detail on the figs make them crappy to paint). Something that has conversion possibilies is great too, but don't get carried away on that (as I said, not everyone will want to do a conversion), but remember that conversions don't have to mean mutations. For example, if a Norse team were picked people could paint the regular GW Norse minis and do a good job and be satisfied with that, while others could convert some WFB plastic marauder minis for something a bit different, while others with more talent could try something more unique (see Anthony's Norse team for examples ). Norse could lead one to think of the Minnisota Vikings and the colours purple and gold would then follow. That wouldn't be too hard. Maybe people should try to focus on what would be a fun team to do. Chaos would be pretty boring in my opinion (as I am no good with green stuff and wouldn't do some wierd mutant conversion) and IIRC it was done already. Why not try something new.

Torg you're more than welcome to post your opinions but don't start mudslinging. Lots of people may find your ideas quit lame as well but they're polite enough to keep their mouth shut. I appreciate if you showed them the same respect.

Torg never shows me respect...that is why he is the head blasphemer and I am just a lowly heretic.
Anyway, I like the Viking them idea.
Or we could do a Green Bay Skaven team...cheese head fans an all.

If you are talking about full conversion teams then we could do a Norse team with bear skins with blue and orange armor?
Something like Laktos the Intolerant by Anthony, but with Chicago Bears colors?

Bah, we need something in Broncos colours...Chaos Centaurs or something. But not Chaos Dorfs, I wouldn't want to shame such a world class team with such silly hats.

Nah, Norse are interesting especially since you could bring in a tinge of a chaos theme to it as well.

Green Bay idea's cool but I've always had a big resentment for Bret Favre for some reason. Can we model the thrower with and Ogre boot print on his face or something?

I would be happy to do either the Viking Norse or the Green Bay Skaven.

Torg: The point with skaven/chaos was to allow maximum choice given the numbers involved. If even half the 'possibles' contribute and the all the definates do, then we're looking at 30 people at this point.
If we do Norse for example, we're looking at a team of 16 or 17 with both Big Guy options and then 13 or 14 sideline figures! :o
If we're happy to have as many sideline figs as players then fine. So while I can see your point that people could 'convert' a Norse player if they wanted to, but we'd still limited to 2T, 2C, 4B, and 7 or 8 linemen and 2 Big Guys.
Now how many options would Gutter Runners alone give us? If we go with a mutation team then we have huge possiblities, i.e. we could produce 30+ players and then sideline staff. And we'd still need stock linerats/beastmen amongst them for those that would rather not model.
