Jim Johnson: “Hello Blood Bowl fans and welcome to the UK’s most easternly point. Jim Johnson and Bob Bifford here, looking forward to a historic day as the gridiron finally makes its way to the most eastern town in the UK!”

Bob Bifford: “Really Jim? This place has never seen the cracking of skulls over a blood bowl pitch?! What have they been doing all this time for entertainment?!”

Jim Johnson: “I don’t know Bob but today this place will finally be treated to the beautiful game!”

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Welcome the inaugural Ness Point Cup. This will be UK’s most eastern NAF blood bowl tournament. The tournament will be held on 20th September 2025. This is an NAF sanctioned event. You must be a member of the NAF to participate in this tournament. If you do not have a membership, please make me aware and I can sort an NAF membership for you.

Location
The Ness Point Cup will take place at 1st Carlton Colville Air Scout Group, St George's Rd, Pakefield, Lowestoft NR33 0JP

Cost
The cost of the tournament is £10 per coach. All tickets should be purchased via paypal by making a payment to a.philpot89@hotmail.com using the friends and family option. When purchasing your ticket, please provide your NAF name and number as well as a contact email.

Capacity
This event has a capacity of 30 coaches.

Parking
The scout hall is tucked down a passageway between 19 and 25 St George’s Road. Hence, there is some limited street parking nearby. If you cannot park on the street nearby, you can also try one of these car parks which are a 5 min walk from the scout hall. There is no parking directly at the scout hall.
- All Saints Road (NR33 0JN) – Free parking but fills up quickly.
- Pakefield Street (NR33 0JS) - £4 all day.
- Pakefield Road (NR33 0HX) - £4 all day

Food and Drink
Each coach will be provided a couple of bottles of water for the day. Tea and Coffee will also be provided using the kitchen facilities on site. There is a fish and chip shop on All Saints Road which I would recommend as well as a Premier and Coop convenience store within a 10 min walk.

What you should bring

Your team
Teams should be fully painted, based and numbered. Proxy teams are allowable, but it should be clear what your team is, and which positional is which. You should have a clear and understandable system for identifying each player and what additional skills your players have.

A pitch
A standard cardboard or neoprene blood bowl pitch is acceptable.

Dice
Standard GW dice is preferable. There should be no concerns over the clearness of your block dice.

A Device for Tourplay
The tournament will be run on Tourplay, so a device capable of running this is required. We would also suggest some kind of power bank to keep this charged for the day.

Your Roster
While the tournament will use tourplay for roster management, it is recommended that you bring a copy of your roster to show your opponent.

RULES
This is a 3 game swiss-resurrection tournament. Injuries are not permanent and are recovered at the end of each game. Each game will last for 2hrs 15mins. Dice down will be called when your time expires and all play should stop at this point.

All rosters need to be submitted to Tourplay 1 week prior to the event.

Scoring System
Win: 30pts
Draw: 15pts
Loss: 0pts
Conceding: -15pts

Bonus Points System:
TDs scored: 1pts for each to a maximum of 3
Casualties: 1pt for each casualty YOUR players inflicted on an opponent to a maximum of 3
Casualties therefore include fouls, surfs, failed dodges and failed block actions. They do not include failed GFIs, throw teammates, bloodlusts etc.

Tie Breakers
The following tie breakers will be used in this order:
- The head-to-head result
- TD Difference
- Casualty Difference
- Touchdowns Scored
- Casualties inflicted
- Roll off

Prizes
- Winner
- Runner Up
- Best Painted
- Stunty Cup
- Disaster Averted ( 2nd to last place)
We will also have some spot prizes for each round.

Sportsmanship
As much as any coach wants to win their games, you’re mostly likely attending to have a good time (or at least you should be). Just be nice and friendly. We’ve all had bad dice, we’ve all tilted, and we’ve all been a little bit salty at times. Please be aware of your behaviour and remember that your opponent is also trying to enjoy the game. Noticeably poor sportsmanship or any form of aggressive, abusive, or hateful behaviour will not be tolerated.

Teams and Roster Building
All teams contained in the Blood Bowl 2020 rulebook and any Spike! Magazine supplement released before the event may be used for this event. Each team will have 1,200,0000 gold crowns to purchase their players and any allowed inducements:

Additional Rules

Alternate Weather Table
As this tournament is played at the UK’s most eastern point, the tournament will us the coastal stadium rules that can be found in “Blood Bowl: Deathzone” on pg. 82.

2D6 Results
2 Gale Force Winds: The wind is unbelievably strong, making passing play impossible and even affecting the kick off! Whilst this weather condition is in effect, ignore step 2 of the Start of Drive sequence – it is not possible for a kick-off to be resolved and a Touchback is automatically caused instead.
Additionally, whilst this weather condition is in effect, no Pass action or Throw Team-mate actions can be performed.

3 Strong Winds: If it wasn’t for the winds, it would be a lovely day. The ball does not deviate normally. Instead, after placing the kick, the coach of the kicking team rolls a D8 to determine the direction in which the wind is blowing:

D8 Wind Direction
1-2 Towards the kicking teams End Zone.
3-4 Towards the receiving teams End Zone.
5-6 Towards the left sideline of the kicking team
7-8 Towards the right sideline of the kicking team.

Next, place the throw in template over the square in which the kick was placed, with the central arrow (3-4) pointing in the direction in which the wind is blowing. The kick then deviates in a direction determined by rolling D6 and referring to the Throw-in template.
Additionally, the number of squares the ball moves is determined by rolling a D8, rather than a D6.

4-10 Perfect conditions: Neither too cold nor too hot. A warm, dry and slightly overcast day provides perfect conditions for Blood Bowl.

11 Torrential Rain: A torrential downpour is making the ball slippery and difficult to hold. Apply a -1 modifier every time a player makes an agility test to catch or pick up the ball , or attempt to Interfere with a pass.
Additionally, the poor visibility means that only quick and short passes may be attempted.
Finally, all players subtract 1 from their MA.
However, such extreme downpours seldom last long. During the End of Drive sequence, after Step 2 but before Step 3, roll again on the Weather table.

12 Blizzard: Freezing conditions and heavy falls of snow make the footing treacherous. Apply a -1 modifier every time a player attempts to Rush an extra square.
Additionally, the poor visibility means that only quick and short passes may be attempted.

Local Fans
The fans are excited to get their first glimpse of blood bowl action and are keen to get involved in the carnage.

- Any player that is pushed into the crowd suffers a +1 modifier to the injury roll.
