Just in case anybody is looking. No bidders at this stage but they do look okay.

French auctions are strange. Have seen some musical auctions from France lately where their auctions start at 30 Euro. Ergo, they were the only ones who didn't sell their items and have tried to sell the same cd's now for 4 times in a row, not decresing the price. These auctions, I believe, all have to be paid to ebay (startingprice money). Other countries start at 2 Euro for the same merchandise.

Starting with 10 Euro for these fig's is totally overdone.

Is France richer than the rest of the world or simply greedier than the Dutch and Scotch combined???

Just curious....

i just think there are less buyer in france than in the uk or usa, and ppl are just afraid their auction didn t go up. That s probably the reason, and that prolly explain too why lot of auction on ebay.fr are with a reserve i think

Ebay and France...

I'd wondered why this seems to happen quite a bit over there. Other stuff I follow there is very much the same and you see the same seller trying the same piece over and over again. Make an offer and generally I find I'm refused only to see it go up again the next week. Don't bother bidding but they don't learn either. Must have money to burn. Scary that!

But if they are not sold, you either decrease the price or don't sell it again.... Because auctions costs (the starting price bit) are not returned when the item is not sold. So offering them several times for the same price seems rather stupid. But I still think that France auctions start at higher prices than others.... Normally means less bidders :-?

I still could be mistaken though

Auctions in France...

Lucy,

You're right of course. Thats why I figure when you offer direct even just slightly less than the original cost I would have thought they'ld be interested. Normally it works and saves you both money but not all the time. Weird, and annoying at times as well. But I guess it depends on how much something is worth. But from a sellers point of view you get a lot of people asking and making offers as well but expecting you to sell for really low prices. That gets on the nerves as well. Thats the chance you take with auctions though

I do understand that for certain items (like popualr fig's, cd's or games like Talisman) you can start at 1 Euro (or dollar/pound, whatever). Wanted items are guaranteed to rocket to the top anyway. But if people try to sell something and see that other auctioneers sell it for far less, than that should mean something.
And.... French people also use the world search engine I presume.

Me presuming mucha thingies today, Amigo...
