The shoulder pads are from the latest WHFB Grave Guard, with greenstuffed straps.
Thanks for all the positive comments guys. Hope to get a chance to start painting on Sunday, at a tourney on Saturday!

Your miniatures are way better than their roster, well done!
P.S. Last time I saw a Bloodletter he had a loincloth, it seems that GW removed it.

Bloodletters don't need a d*ck anyway, they're not gonna rape you to death (that's more a Slaanesh thing), so they've got nothing to hide.MattDakka wrote:Your miniatures are way better than their roster, well done!

The alluring call of Chaos... can't resist... it's an opportunity to collect a new team!
These are the conditions I impose on myself. The team has to be.
- tourney legal (GW only)
- all metal (no plastic, no resin)
- totally retro! ("golden age" minis - that way, I can adhere to tourney requirements without having to actually buy new GW minis. Also, this lends a notion of 'collectability' to the whole project. Most important reason: it's the way I like it.)
Bloodthirster and Bloodletters:
old Realm of Chaos WH minis:
http://www.solegends.com/citcat912/c202 ... irster.htm
http://www.solegends.com/citcat912/c202 ... etters.htm
Heralds:
Trickiest part. Either gussy up some Bloodletters with extra armour (last resort) or spring for the two RoC Champions of Khorne with the Bloodletter heads:
http://www.solegends.com/citcat912/c20264rcchkhorne.htm
Sourcing these is going to be tricky (and probably very expensive. I was in a bidding war over both of them last week and was very quickly out-gunned - both went for 15,- Euro each!) Another option is to put the top halves of old Bloodletters on some other suitable Chaos minis; luckily, a lot of suitable chaos minis are out there.
Pit Fighters:
This - to me - is the archetypical pit fighter:
http://www.blood-bowl-miniatures.de/bb/ ... haos_6.htm
Unfortunately, it's the only one there is.
Fortunately, the name "Pit Fighter" does not impose any limitations regarding player race or type. Pit fighters can be anyone or anything kitted out in gladiatorial-style armour parts and over-the-top helmets or hairdos. Chaos thugs or witch elves come to mind. Or Khorne beastmen with dog and wolf heads (no horns). Even Trollslayers. Or a mix of all of them.

Re: A Khornucopia of ideas...
I plan on using my gaspez arts Norse humans as pit fighters I think they work great for that. of course I imagine them in a flesh and red paint scheme. I would use the plastic Bloodletters with added shoulder pads, painted in typical gw colors scheme. for the heralds I wouldn't use any deamon type model since they dont have regeneration (assuming Im looking at the official team). I also wouldn't use a chaos warrior model since warriors are S4 in Bloodbowl. I would imagine him to appear to be human but with horns. for the blood thirster I was thinking about using the AoW herald model, not too big for the pitch and has a modern look to it. I also have the belakor model though. personally I dont want to deal with wings on a huge model either.
If I didnt have the gaspez models I would use marauders.

I reckon I might convert up some of these to go with the unclothed plastic daemons. Really push the "total disregard for [their] own safety" angle. Like they'd bother putting on armour - pah!:

Lucky you! Ba$tard stiffed me on ebay.... Claimed problems with shipping/postal service till I went to Europe, with promises to make good when I came back if not received.... Lo' and behold, come back and time is past to file a complaint with ebay... he knows it and WILL NOT ANSWER all communication attempts.... Yeah, real good dealerDon__Vito wrote:Troll Trader delivered....

I remember there's a pit fighters warband for Mordheim, would you use it?
Not sure if still for sale, or they were melted to create more marines....
Shteve, please do tell us you will put a loincloth on them. That, or use them to play Greebo slutty elves

They still sell the Mordheim pit fighters, just picked some up for a BB project a few simple weapon snips and you'd have some cool pit fighter bb players.ulvardar wrote:I remember there's a pit fighters warband for Mordheim, would you use it?

As above, have both bought from him and sold to him in the past. Never had even the slightest problem.

Re: A Khornucopia of ideas...
Can anyone tell me whether this guys shield separates from his arm, or if they're molded together? Seems like he'd be a good fit for a Herald alongside the Champion of Khorne, but only if that shield comes off easy.

I guess I'd probably go plastic mauraders for pit fighters, the two mentioned above as heralds, current bloodletters and the AoW Daemon as Bloodthirster. I quite like this team because I'm a big frenzy fan, so if I was going to get a chance to play them either in a league or tournament I'd definitely give them a go.

I don't have the model in front of me but as I remember the shield is not connected. I'll have a look for my model and let you know later.Virral wrote:Can anyone tell me whether this guys shield separates from his arm, or if they're molded together?
