Think you should include the NAFC Duel for next year's GGGarrick wrote:Just trying to sneak 4thPipey wrote:let me have a look at that. Best Painted Team is stated as the scoring prize don't forget.

Yes I will include it Graham. Hadn't listed that as something which awards points for 16/17 so not fair to include it. I'll make mention of it in the 17/18 spiel.
GGUK III (2017/18) details coming soon. Looks like Hawk will be the early leader after winning Auld World Masters.

Still no idea who won the other tourney that ran yesterday.

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.

Re: Golden Gauntlet UK 2016/17 *BESTERS WINS*
As a general point, does anyone have any other suggestions regarding the rules? I'm not looking to fundamentally revise the structure - still very much aiming for something very simple and easy to follow (and administrate!), which is open to any tournament UK-wide and doesn't just recognise placings but allows scoring for the other traditionally recognised prizes. All thoughts very welcome.

I didn't trouble the top of the leaderboard but really enjoyed the Golden Gauntlet updates over the year. Your efforts in running this are much appreciated, thanks PipeyPipey wrote:Hope people enjoyed this again this year. Well done to those who made it up near the top!

Suggestions for improvement. Can't think of much except that, for the very big events such as NAFC, you can have a great tourney eg 4-1-1 win-draw-loss and not score any Golden Gauntlet points. Perhaps worth considering extending the scoring down to say 15th for events with more than 50 coaches and down to 20th place for events with more than 100 coaches. Or similar?

Gratz Besters!
Whilst i benefited from them, not sure the Double Points events are a good thing? A win at a double event is 50pts. Only 30 people managed to get 50+ in total. If there had to be a change in what is a great thing you do for us, that is the one i'd make

Hi all thanks for the feedback and kind comments.
That's the area I feel could need review: whether the "Classics" concept, and double points system is working.
Maybe it needs a weighted score based on tournament size, so a more objective measure than a designated list of chosen tournaments. Double is of course a huge step up which looks arbitrary. Very keen on simplicity so it's easy to follow and easy to calculate.
