I'm afraid Im like the current ageing rule... It give something special to the skill rolls. THe fact it's called ageing isn't the best thing, sure: as said below, ageing is a weird concept for elves, or undeads... But in its effects, I think it's OK...
EDIT: and I'm not sure a rule based on the number of games instead of SPP would be better, or more realistic... A match played for an halfling isn't the same than one for a mummy... DOn't you think so ?

I think that RPG aspect of the Races in Blood Bowl is difficult.
Like a Elf that is 1000 years old could be incredibly skilled in comparison to an Human who can only play for like 15 Years... Chaos Warriors "play" for like 2 or 3 Eternities ^^ and Trolls could practice FOREVER and won't improve.
This could only be adressed by more specialised rules like Elves can get up do 100 Skills - but need 100.000.000.000 SPP ^^ or Trolls can only get 5 and other Races like undead that never age but dunno their bones become instable ^^ ?
