I quite like the confiscation rules. Otherwise its a real no brainer to take SWs. You need to trade off the obvious advantages of having a SW against the cost of maintaining one.

The only other realistic option would be just to freeboot them, otherwise its too unbalanced.

Bringing back the "if a player has it, he can only be fielded with it" and possibly the "you can only buy a SW for a player when you buy a new player" rules should make it a bit more of a choice again, then

With the confiscation rules, I'd only ever even consider a SW when I had a full roster with a good number of RR's and was going up against a team I really needed them against...

That rarely happens, too rarely...

I'd like to see SW in a form that's also usable by Lower TR, growing teams.

2 of the 3 Dwarf teams in the MBBL just purchased Deathrollers for the next round yesterday. I haven't seen the end game purchases of the 3rd team yet, but he told me already that he was getting a Deathroller or Troll Slayer.

So I don't know what proof you were looking for .... but first in results definitely show that coaches will bother taking secret weapons especially the Deathroller with these rules. The real question will be .... will they purchase a 2nd one after the first get confiscated.

I'll beat good money that its going to happen a lot more than that in Season 3 of the MBBL, but I'll wait and see. I'm pretty sure that the Goblin team will be loading up on weapons.

I was leaving goblins out of my consideration.
To them, the profit of a Secret Weapon, such as a Chainsaw, is larger than to the "normal" teams, and they are more about fun than about serious competition, anyway.
