An Idea: Blood Bowl Manager

However you play online - Java, Vassal, Email, Cyanide etc - talk about it here.
This is also the place for discussing the various tools for managing leagues, teams and so on.

I've often dreamt of such a game, but I can't offer any support as I know nothing about programming. Plus, the Official BB game will hopefully cover some elements of this. Well, maybe I'm being wishful in my thinking there.

I have programming ability to offer... but, honestly, it's a really big task and I'm not sure a lot of the things that make FM fun would translate to BB:

- Transfers (I've never seen a BB system that made sense)
- Fixtures rather than an open league
- Tactics (how do you possibly model good AI for each positional--it's hard to teach an agent to play with the flair or subtlety of a good coach).

What I've mulled instead is a more interactive online league where coaches are encouraged to make "in-game" press releases and the best games and plays are highlighted on a regular basis. Basically, PbEM with a more engrossing "out of game" interface.

On my side I've been working for some time on an online Blood Bowl Manager game. Actually, it will be more like a sports management game set in the Blood Bowl / Warhammer world.

Each coach will start with a poor team, then travel the world for tournaments, hiring new players, some assistant coaches such as wizards... Money will be the heart of the game, as for any management game 8)

I have some programming skills but lack time, else I would have already something up and running.
Still I have already made some stuff, started to manage the travel, the creation of the teams, the management of the challenges... But I still need to work on the game engine and players training. Then I should be able to start a beta someday.

I don't know if this is of any interest to you or if this is what you are planning to do. But if you want to work with me on this project... you're welcome 8)
