Next skill for a Wardancer

Post by Khrys_Antos »

Hi,

I've been playing for years Bloodbowl, and found this site a few weeks ago and want to get some ideas for my wood elf team.

I have a wardancer who's going to get another skill soon. He's already got ST 4 and Jump Up. I'm not sure on the next skill I should get him; maybe shadowing or tackle?

My team is made up of:
2 Wardancers
1 Thrower(Strong Arm) and Niggling
2 Catchers
9 Linemen
1 RR
1 FF
1 APO

I started with 5 or 6 ff, but I rolled like 1's after every match. :pissed:

The other teams are High Elves, Dark Elves, Amazons and a 2nd season Skaven.

What do you guys think?

I would have said strip ball too, but then I saw the list of other teams. Take tackle. Then take strip ball. Then take shadowing.

I had a ST4 Wardancer with Frenzy once. That was a lot of fun. That was 3rd ed Frenzy though. Tackle is probably your percentage choice.

Frezy ST4 Wardancers in 3rd ed was just awfull to play against. That 8 in MA, ugh don't want to think of that again. I agree with the rest here, Tackle seems like a good choice, you get more ppl down with him, and he's a bitch to dodge from (he can get everywhere on the pitch, set him up against key players)

Definitely take Tackle, every other team in your league has easy access to Dodge and you need to show them who's boss. Strip Ball would be a close second, but it won't wreak as much havok, especially when everyone tries to dodge away from that ST 4 montrosity... ;)

I play woodies to, and I also got a ST 4 WD. He's got 134 SPP and has scored 36 TD's. I made the mistake that I didn't give him tackle until he had 126 SPP. Give him tackle, and he will be the best player both for offensive and deffensive playing.
And with the teams you're playing against you have to give him tackle.

So tackle it is. And then strip ball.

How about for my second wardancer? He already has shadowing and I definitely don't want the same skills on both.

I like the pass block and catch combo for interceptions. I'm partial to sure hands seeing as it stops Strip Ball and its a favorite of every player in our group.

Thanks for the help guys. :D

Normally I give my own wardancers the following:

1: Tackle, strip ball
2: Side step, tackle

Pass Block is good, but I normally leave that for the catcher who already have catch.

I agree, PB is usually better to give to the catchers with catch already, less needed to be effective that way. But it can be argued that with PB you can use your PB to get into the tacklezone of the catcher and just shadow him down all the way. Wardancers are very flexible, use what you see fit for your situation. With shadowing already, sidestep is a nice choice imo :-) (or PB to get close to the catcher, but with MA8 you should be there already :-P)

A passblocking shadower for the enemy's catchers are very fun indeed.
