Running tournaments!

Post by van der vaart »

So seeings as there is currently only one tournament in Victoria (that i know of) isort of want to take it upon myself to a) get a whole heap of people playing Blood Bowl at my local club and b) run a tournament when they all inevitably fall in love with Blood Bowl. Only problem is, Ive never run a Blood Bowl, or any other type of tournament before! So i was hoping that, as per usual, the people on here could help me out! Even if you dont know the fine details of running a tournament just saying what you like about particular tournaments would be very helpful! Look forward to hearing from all of you! :)

Decent place to play BB in, so getting a good cup of coffee or a beer, being able to get lunch somewhere, having a stable table, one that is large enough, ...

If you have a small amount of players then make sure your room isnt too big. It's nice to see some action on other boards now and then.

A decent time schedule is handy too, and sticking to it.

I dont mind an entry fee, but I also dont mind a small giveaway. even a throw in template with the tournament's name on it is good. Or a dugout,...
Some prices are good too. They dont have ALL to be BB related.

I find it hard to find a cheap place to play in over here. I have to ask either a relative large entry fee, or have to get a lot of players playing.
And that's just to cover the 'rent' of the place. never mind the prices of the prices...
But I will probably organize something next year, this one was too busy (studies and family and work and...).

Good luck ! Hope it helps.

There is more than one tourney in Melbourne, in fact I'm sure there are at least two  Conquest and Blocktober.

I'd recommend getting in touch with JoeKano who seems to be the most active and organises one if not both of them.
