Best possible roster series Rnd 2 - Vamps vs Chaos Dwarfses
Morning,
my TT buddy and I are playing a series of games using all 24 teams; each game our teams are allocated at random and each team is designed with no upper TV limit. We are using the standard rules but as each game will be a one-off game we are designing fully developed teams assigning skills, as many RRs as we choose, apo, coaches etc. The only improvements we are not making is stat upgrades.
All inducements will be available so although there is no upper TV limit, a massive TV may give up a load of inducements.
My question is that using the above criteria, what is the perfect Slann-destroying Chaos roster, and what is the perfect Chaos-beating Slann team?
The following are my attempts although I'm sure there are better ways of doing them.....
Slann roster
Catcher - block, dodge, side-step, fend 160k
Catcher - block, dodge, guard 150k
Catcher - wrestle, dodge, strip-ball 140k
Catcher - block, dodge 120k
Blitzer - block, tackle, mighty blow, piling on 190k
Blitzer - block, mighty blow, piling on 170k
Blitzer - block, tackle, side-step 170k
Krox - block, guard 190k
Lino - kick, wrestle 100k
Lino - wrestle, strip ball, dauntless 120k
Lino - wrestle 80k
Lino - wrestle 80k
Lino - block, guard 110k
4 RR = 200k
TV = 1,980
Chaos roster
CW - block, tackle, mighty blow, juggernaut - 180k
CW - block, guard, mighty blow, tentacles - 180k
CW - block, guard, tentacles - 160k
CW - block, guard, mighty blow, claw - 180k
Beastman - block, extra arms - 100k
Beastman - wrestle, tackle, strip ball - 120k
Beastman - block, dodge, sure hands - 130k
Beastman - block, guard - 100k
Beastman - block, tackle - 100k
Beastman - block, claw, mighty blow, piling on - 140k
Beastman - block, sure hands - 100k
Beastman - block, tentacles - 100k
Beastman - tentacles - 80k
3 RR = 180
TV = 1,850
Your thoughts?

Re: Best possible roster - Chaos vs Slann
What about stat upgrades? Slann would love some AG+ (and ST+).
For chaos I'd want a blodge, sh, AG+, MA+ ball carrier, some mobile killers with tackle, block, cmbpo, jugger (to cancel wrestle) and a smattering of block, mb and guard on the rest. Just focus on keeping the ball on the carrier preferably with a killer and some guard as cover while you hunt frogs with the rest of your team.

Re: Best possible roster - Chaos vs Slann
for the slann side you definitelly want a dodge, wrestle, strip ball catcher. 85% to pop the ball out from a non surehand player means that he must carry with the dedicated carrier. he will be in trouble in any other situation.
also the kroxigor is mandatory, you need his punch and assist just a guard kroxi will be far better than blitzers. Especially because diving tackle will not help against a chaos team while guard and ST5 will be an issue for him.

Re: Best possible roster - Chaos vs Slann
Chaos want a lot of guard, to keep the cage more secure against leaps, and a couple of sure hands (in case one gets taken out).
The slann probably want either all 4 blitzers with lots of skills (maybe a couple of killers?), or drop them altogether. And you want more than 1 strip-ball, give it to several of the linefrogs.

Re: Best possible roster - Chaos vs Slann
No experience against high-level Slann, but was wondering if a Chaos Warrior ball carrier is a viable option: maybe that +1 st can be more useful than +1 ma. Opinions?
In the same vein, maybe chaos can use some Kick-off Return: Slann can capitalize the most from a good kick.

Re: Best possible roster - Chaos vs Slann
Slann:
Wrestle+Fend linos because of PO
1 killer blitzer
4 blodge catchers. Two with Sure Hands, one of those with Pass, and two with Side step, two with Guard
Krox with Guard
Chaos:
A Long Legged, Leaping, Frenzied and Juggernauting beastman to make side line caging more hazardous
Otherwise, Block, 4-5 Guard, Claw and MB and Tackle
A blodged up, Two Headed, Sure and Extra Armed beastman

Re: Best possible roster - Chaos vs Slann
Thanks for the tips y'all.
We've just played and it was a bit one-sided as the Chaos forgot how to break armour and the slann just did what they do best - the slann blitz to make it 3-0 really rubbed salt in the wound
Final score 4-0
Next Best Possible Roster match up - lizards vs flings......

6x B/TPOMB Saurus lol. Maybe a few with Dauntless just for laughs. 6 re-rolls, some DT/SS Skinks.
What Halfling team? 4x ST6-7 will be of little help. Chef is no good if opponent has an arbitrary number of TRRs.

Re: Best possible roster - Chaos vs Slann
0 TRR's for lizards and T+B+MB Sauri sound nice but don't overdo it. Three should be enough. Maybe add Diving Tackle to the sauri as well. They'll be more useful than skinks who can be pushed around by flings. Keeping TV low is essential because the flings can only win with inducements.
Halflings: 12 flings, two trees. Three Dauntless+MB+PO flings (redundancy is important). Getting rid of the opposing players is essential to success. 2 TRR's. Then hope for as many inducements as possible.

0-2 Stars, man. Inducements are great to a point. Come in with a big enough Lizardman team and it doesn't matter what the Flings take.

Best possible roster - Round 2 - Vampires vs Chaos Dwarfses
Following the (rather 1-sided) first game of the series and the random round 2 draw which gave me lizards and jim flings, we decided to pick our own teams for match 2 to hopefully make a more even contest. Game 2 will therefore be......
Chaos Dwarfs (jim) vs Vampires (me)
So my question again is, what does the best vamp-destroying CD roster look like, and what would the best CD eating vampire team be?
As before we are using all the regular rules to make a fully developed team with no upper TV limit, no limit on skill duplication, stat boosts can be given, RR's ahoy, cheerleaders a-plenty etc etc All inducements will then be available after working out the TV in the traditional matter.
From researching fumbbl rosters I'm using Mr Fox's Alderman High Vipers as a template for my vamps and Calthor's Arkham Sanitarium as a base for the nasty dwarfses.
