Spring Break 2026: Shark Week!
28th Feb 2026
The annual Spring Break Blood Bowl tournament is due to be played on floating pitches out in the bay, but there are rumours of a beast below the waves.
The Team
TO: Amsel (@SaltySeaWench on NAF, discord etc)
The Venue
Dice Saloon is located in Brighton’s bustling London Road area, 15 minutes walk from Brighton train station, and well served by buses. If driving, London Road multistory carpark is the best place to park (https://www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/parkin ... d-car-park).
Dice Saloon has a great food and drink menu, and is licenced to serve alcohol as well. We’re happy for coaches to drink during the tournament, but reserve the right to disqualify anyone who behaves inappropriately (whether they have been drinking or not).
Dice Saloon is fully accessible, with space at tables for wheelchair access, although it can get a little noisy when busy. If you have any specific access needs that you would like to discuss, please contact the TO or the venue.
Dice Saloon is queer and trans friendly, with both gendered and gender neutral toilets available.
The Day
10.00: Registration
10.15 - 12.45: Game 1
12.45 - 13.30: Lunch
13.30 - 16.00: Game 2
16.15 - 18.45: Game 3

Rounds will have a strict 2.5 hours running time. If, with an hour to go, you are not in the second half of the match, a TO will issue your table with a chess clock to ensure timekeeping. If your clock runs out of time you will only be allowed to set up players for a new drive before passing turn to your opponent.
You will need to bring with you your (ideally painted) team, legible dice and all appropriate tokens. Pitches, dugouts and scatter templates will be provided.
Tickets
30 places available
This is a NAF sanctioned event, but NAF membership will not be a requirement. All games against non-NAF opponents will be uploaded as played against the dummy opponent for ranking purposes.
Tickets £20 via the Dice Saloon booking page https://www.dicesaloon.com/events/blood ... hark-week
Team Building
Teams start with a set budget to be spent on players, sideline staff and allowed inducements. On top of this amount teams have an additional set of skills to add to players as below. Skills do not cost any additional gold to purchase, and inducements purchased at team creation are used throughout the event.
This is a swiss style, resurrection tournament and the same roster will be used for all games. There is no additional inducements step during the pre-match sequence.
Team Values 1.15 million
Available teams include all standard GW teams plus the optional NAF team roster for Slaan.
Teams to be registered on Tourplay by midnight on 20/02/26 https://tourplay.net/en/blood-bowl/brib ... shark-week
Registration on Tourplay does not guarantee a place until tickets have been bought from the venue

0-1 ‘Old Quint’
‘Old Quint’ - 50k GP - Available to all teams - See Mercenaries on Tourplay
Quint has been around these parts for as long as anyone can remember, telling their stories about sharks, piranhas and worse. With the plans to host a Blood Bowl festival on floating pitches in the bay, Quint has been warning the mayor of stirrings in the deep, but the mayor has refused to listen - the beach must stay open!
Old Quint is a team mascot for all normal rules purposes. In addition, should a team that has hired Quint have less then 11 players available to start a drive, then Quint may be set up on the line of scrimmage and plays the next drive with the following stats. At the end of any drive in which quint has been set up on the pitch a shark bursts through the boards/is flung from a passing tornado/is summoned by a ouija board and Quint is removed from play and killed, adding to the shark bait tally for your opponent (see below).
MA 4 ST 3 AG 4+ PA 5+ AV 10+
Defensive, Stand Firm, Wrestle, Thick Skull
There will be a prize for the best Quint model. Although named after the famous character from Jaws, Quint can really be any character that fulfills the creature feature archetype of the mysterious local that warns doom and then usually dies horribly, so feel free to represent them however you want - male, female or enby, young or old. Reference your favourite movie or come up with something entirely new. However, if you don’t feel up to this then any suitably distinct model to represent Quint will do, probably a dwarf lineman as that's the basis of their stats.
Tournament Special Rules
‘Blood in the Water’
For the duration of the first half the threat of the sharks is ever present, but there’s still a chance to survive finding yourself in the water. During this half, any injury roll caused by the crowd has a +1 modifier.
By the second half, the sharks are circling and the water has become deadly. Any player that leaves the pitch and in doing so would suffer an injury roll (being pushed into the crowd, falling through a trapdoor with the Treacherous Trapdoors Prayer to Nuffle active, etc) is treated as if the injury roll was a 10+.
‘Shark Bait’
Any player that suffers an injury roll of a 10+ (9+ for a player with the stunty trait) after being pushed into the crowd (or otherwise leaving the pitch as as per the Blood in the Water rule above) is immediately placed in the casualty box and cannot leave it for any reason. No regeneration, no apothecary, no Raise the Dead or Nurgle's Rot. The player is considered to be dead, and should be marked as such on tourplay. It’s quite hard to make a comeback to the game when a shark is swimming off with your torso!

Conduct
Blood Bowl can be a passionate game, but coaches are always expected to respect their opponents, and to allow them to play the game their way. Enjoy the highs, despair at the lows, but never take your eye off the fact that this is a game.
Aggressive, abusive or insulting behaviour will not be tolerated, and we reserve the right to disqualify coaches who act in this manner.
