I hate to whine about good luck but . . .
Don't you guys hate those unexpected doubles on skill rolls during early development? I know it sounds stupid but I agonise over picking non-accessible skills or accessible traits when I really need a basic skill right then. For instance I had a troll slayer with MB, PO, and he wasn't getting any cas's because everyone had dodge, so at 31 spps I've already decided to give him Tackle. Guess what, doubles! I was pissed and needed tackle so I gave it to him anyways.
Second case: I have an undead team and after my first two matches I had only one skill roll (my only wight) so I'm gonna give him sure hands cuz I'm burning re-rolls like nothing, and I roll a double. Ok, I'll put up with NoS. Next game (which I lost because the aforementioned ghoul failed to pick up the ball three times in OT with no re-rolls left - BLAST! stupid doubles), I get rolls with a mummy and my new ghoul, so I'm thinking Block and Sure Hands will let me win some games. Nope, two sets of doubles! GAHHHHHHHHH!
I'm sure these doubles will help me in the long run (I'm thinking Frenzy for mummy and NoS for Ghoul again) but lordy is it ever annoying right now!!! I'm gonna lose so many games!

I can sympathize, as my Orc team is currently competing in a league with two Amazon teams. My only tackler was killed at the start of the season, and I managed to get 3 skill rolls on my blitzers. I rolled two pairs of Doubles and an agility up.
It's a "problem" I love to have!

I agree, its both good and bad, when your zombie gets doubles and can take guard for his first skill. Guard is really good but without block he is a major target.

One of my unskilled linerats caused 3 cas in the REBBL Skaven league (using clan moulder). "Great", I thought, "Claw or RSC".

I take it all back. In my next game, a rematch, my frenzying mummy blitzed his "Buzzing" (ie. Jump Up, Frenzy) Black Orc into the crowd on the first action of the game! -1ST! No Apoth!
I used my two ghouls to penetrate his defence and since he could only blitz one and both had NoS I scored 2 Tds without cages, allowing me to win on the last turn, 3-2!

I'm not complaining, just looks strange on the rster sheet that all his SPP's are for cas and he gains AG. No way (with no GR access) I was going to pass up on the AG increase. In fact, he's just scored a TD, after catching a bouncing ball in a scrum (only one of about 5 players who could catch it on a 5+, rather than a 6)Grumbledook wrote:you ever heard the phrase don't look a gifthorse in the mouth?

5 beastmen in my chaos team
1 normal with block, tackle an guard
2 strange beings with +ag and a bunch of other normal skills
2 imitating elves with +2 ag and block (one of them also has pass block)
but there isnt anything more annoying than +ag on your mummy, +mv on a dwarfen longbeard (unless he has gotten a +ag as well...then he is awesome!!!) or a double on your "first skill roll" ogre (ogre with dodge but no block - in the future he will get break tackle!!!)

Shut up, you hear me? SHUT up!!
Dang blasted whining maggot. "Buhuu, I roll doubles when I don't want them" *SLAP*
Only doubles I roll for skill increases is Double 1's on aging. That has happened plenty of time. I swear, in all honesty, I have gotten more aging resulst due to double 1's, then I have gotten doubles on skill rolls at all.
I swear, you shoul be locked in a dungeon, with no food, and rats, and beaten regularily on general principle, and subjected to multiple.... *grumble grumble*
