There was a post about her somewhere...new head of GW Legal. I think it was a link to some industry rag.

The new GW sheriff doesn't give a shit if Joey Stranger says "zomg I'm so upset I'm selling my army". Saying so on TBB isn't going to make then reconsider anything. So yes she *can* read the posts, I was wrong on that, but she still won't care. TBB is a very small percentage of the player base for BB. BB is only a percentage of the specialist games market. Specialist games were in 2006 between 3% and 5% of GW's overall profit, no doubt less 3 years on. The target demographic GW care about is 11 - 14, or rather the wallet of the parents of 11 - 14 year olds.

A mass boycott of GW product from TBB readers is really nothing. We play BB ffs, we don't splash £300 on a new army every 6 months. We have never spent enough for the admittedly passionate words to *mean* anything.

I'm not trying to put a downer on it, but trying to put a perspective on it.

Anyway.... Tom, couple of questions I am hoping you can answer.

1) What's your future going to be now, with respect to BB if it's still going to farm part of it, or other things if not?

2) Given the last 5 years, the history of the game and your involvement in it, and where it is now, what would you personally have done differently?

3) What advice would you give to someone seeking to get involved with BB along the lines of what you have, e.g. submitting content, writing articles for GW etc., be it on a small scale or a BBRC scale?

4) Excluding the current situation, what has been the best and worst events in your experience of BB to date?

(certainly dont mean this to sound like a eulogy, my thought was "this must be pretty shit for you, hmm wonder what else has been a low point, but what was a good point")

Feel free to answer any/all/none of the above, in private or public. And best wishes regardless.

LOL the new legal minx at GW used to work for the company that represented me when I sued the bus company which knocked me over a few years ago.

That's it I'm buying a new GW army.

I was about to answer all of your questions to the best of my ability ... and then I read this.

In light of what GW legal has done to my life the last 5 weeks ... reading that you plan on supporting GW because of their new legal staff after you wanted me to give you great details of my life felt like a gut punch. I really don't care if she made your life better ... in light of the recent events you know she's made my life a pure solid living hell ... and a bit of respect for that is not that much to ask.

So I think your questions will now go unanswered.

Hey Indigo, mate, clarification is needed for your post. As galak said, he's been metaphorically smeared into the ground by these corporate swearwords, yet you want to support them.

Galak, mate, though I have not been in this game for long, you my utmost respect for the many long hours that you freely given to the improvement of the game, as do Babs, Double Skulls, and Geggs (sorry if I got your name wrong mate). JJ however, seems to be a pawn in the whole affair. However, I can't comment, having never met, or spoken to the man.

That was a tongue in cheek remark, playing upon the post I wrote immediately before the one you quoted. Specifically it was parodying my own comment about threatening GW you're going to do something on a forum means absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things.

Sadly an artefact of text-only forums means the context can often be lost, although I'd hoped people would pick up on it coming right after my post saying GW don't really give a shit about comments like the above. I'm quite surprised anyone can read that and truthfully think something as tenuous and coincidental as what I posted is cause to flock to GW's banner. Had that been said in the context of a beer face-to-face I think you'd have picked up on the true nature of it.

Appreciate it must be tough for you now and I genuinely mean no personal offence, it certainly wasn't directed at you. I regret you didn't read it in the context by which it was intended. Regret, and also surprised.

Good enough ... looking at your posts .... I still don't get that as a joke. But I fully accept you meant it to be one just like Doubleskull's post a few days ago that came across wrong.

Look everyone ... I'm on edge and will be for a few days ... so avoid sarcastic humour for now ... its likely to not be intrepreted correctly.

Indigo ... I'll do my best to answer those questions later.

Yes, everyone enjoy christmas with their families, and forget your nerd rage (srsly). Tom may be a little less edgy then.

Was that really necessary Tomba?

As representative of the legal profession allow me to point out a small thing: we lawyers are drilled to do what the client wants us to do. So do not blame the legal department alone. Here is my take on that:

1- GW gets a new head of legal
2- GW master ask her to protect IP and tie up loose ends.
3- Legal Rampage.

I've worked in legal departments and we are usually preaching in the desert.

Do not blame only the minion, blame GW that do not care or do not see the potential of BB and are failing the rein in the lawyers.

@Galak: Do you know why they use lawyers in labs?

Because they are things that even rats will not do for money.

Merry Christmas to all.
