Suckers? I thought it was just the USA that invented new sports so they could a)get more advert breaks in, b) wear lots of armour and c) avoid being beaten by the rest of the world, which plays proper games

and I don't know what you mean by a "fag sport" but I don't like it.....

Anyway, my original point stands, somewhere, that in a lot of other games, legitimate time wasting is accepted as part of the game (legitimate mind)

ok goblin coach, here it is for you:

I'm playing against your goblins, and I have a dwarf team. I am ahead 1-0 and I have the ball. It's turn 1 of the 2nd half. I beat up your goblins, and move the ball ahead 3 squares into my little cage. Turn 2, I beat up your goblins and move the ball ahead 5 squares with my little cage. Turn 3, I beat up your goblins and move the ball to within 2 squares of the end zone in my little cage.

Turns, 4, 5, 6, and 7, I beat the hell out of your poor goblins as I stand still with the ball. Turn 8, I score, game over 2-0 win for me.

That's stalling.

don't take the tone of my previous message wrong, i think it's a perfectly valid tactic (as I have said on numerous occasions)

A valid tactic, but it can suck the fun out of a game. Of course so can 1 turn scorers if you are a slow dwarf team.

You take the good with the bad. It's part of the game, and there are situations in which it should be done.

I was accused of stalling this season. I was up 4-1 vs dwarves( remember my elves are destroyed, I only had 8 guys). I had let him score the one he got. He kicked off and it was my turn 7 so I passed the ball to my guys deep in my half and ran. He got all pissy. Saying I was cheating. I'm like it's BB I can't stall if you don't let let me. Stalling isn't dodging away when you're up by 3 TDs anyhow. Yet the crying continues. I asked him he'd feel better if I beat him 5-0 and he said no

so..........WTF? Screw it.

No-one in our league, in 6 years, thats about 50 people, has EVER complained about stalling!!!

noodle: you'll find people will complain about any team or tactic they don't have the wit to figure out how to beat by themselves.

Stalling is part of the game.... making a cage isn't much better, by the way.... but what the hell means this «better»?!?!

If someone complains of stalling he should play an All-Elf league... and forbid passes backfield?!... but THAT isn't BB for sure!!...

NOTE: When I asked about stalling I was just saying... all my TDs (all?!? Well, all the few...) were made after a goblin fly or a big deal at dice, so stalling just doesn't mix with goblins: I have not the oportunity to do it...
and most players I play against don't feel the need...

The USA don't invent too many sports. Canadians do, then the USA steal them away from us because they have more money. Hockey, football and basketball, 3 of the 4 major sports in the USA, were invented in Canada.

As for why we invent them, it's because your sports are plain boring!

Hockey I'll give you, but if you can't pay the players (i.e. Ottawa) then expect them to go to a loony country like ours where we pay athletes and entertainers far more than they deserve.
