Has anybody ever made a miniature BB set?
The reason I ask is because I'm thinking of doing so.
My son is nearly as keen a BB player as I am, and several times a year we fly long haul together. So a miniature or "pocket" BB set would be ideal for whiling away those long hours.
The only ideas I have at the moment are:
- To make a set like an old fashioned pocket chess set, giving the playing pieces pegs to fit in holes in the board. Maybe use Warmaster figurines (although excellent, these are perhaps a bit small).
- To use magnetic pieces, maybe with pictures/drawings. More stylised and less characterful than the above, but easier to use to display prone and stunned players.
I'm not very good with my hands. Has anyone out there got any practical experience or suggestions?
Cheers

It's probably not a lot of help, but it's certainly interesting: minature 40K...

You can't have everything; where would you put it?

I believe Dean Maki made one years back.He had it at the first BB tournament.
If I remember, he used a travel chess set which was magnetic and then the figs were from another range with magnets underneath, the pitch was scanned(or something) and stuck to the chess board. The templates were also recreated to minature size.
It seemed to work very well, and is a nice idea if you travel a lot

Don't forget the old Epic range either... no skaven, but lots of Orc/Human possibilities...

Using Flat counters you could use a two sided counter.
Use two colors, say blue field with white lettering for one team and red field with yellow lettering for the other. On the reverse side of the counters reverse the colors (white field, blue lettering and yellow field, red lettering).
That show make keeping track easy.

You need three options. One for standing, one for prone, one for stunned. The way I play, you would need four, as I like to face my guys the other way when I've finished their action for the turn. Perhaps you could use a little magnetic cube, with four different colours. Or you could use a flat counter with letters or symbols written in such a way that you could tell what way they were pointed. Just a thought...
