Can I throw an opposing Player ?
or more important, can my Troll EAT an Opposing Player ?
(Galak, i changed right Stuff and & Throw Team Mate from RC to beeing a Special. Makes more sense that way, and Specials cannot be lost or gained, not even with the RC doubles Rule that i want to think about)

Throw Team Mate says "throw somebody (teammate) with right stuff". And If i pick an opposing player up, the troll is always hungry, that could really become a problem for ANYBODY being thrown.
So why is it that big guys respect the rules and don't simply throw a little one away ? Galak do you think throwing ANYBODY with right stuff would be a problem ?

Actually I don't have a problem with a Big Guy throwing anyone, I'm just saying that if you want to do so you need to set it up like the MBBL2 does.
We have Throw TeamMate which only works on your teammates with right stuff
and then we have Pitch Player which is a Strength skill that can be used on opponents:
Pitch Player (SKILL) - A player with this skill may attempt to throw any opponent in an adjacent square at the start of his action (instead of blocking them). Roll blocking dice as if you were trying to block the opponent (use offensive and defensive assist rules), this represents the attempt to pick the opponent up. If you roll two or more results that would have succeeded in knocking the opponent down, you have managed to pick up the opponent. If only one or no "opponent down" result is rolled, the opponent has eluded the pick up attempt and nothing happens. If successful, the opponent can be thrown as per Throw Teammate skill (see Throw Teammate skill) except that the throw is made with an additional -1 penalty for each point of the opponent's strength over 1 (-1 for ST 2, -2 for ST 3, -3 for ST 4, -4 for ST 5) representing the player's non-cooperation. If the thrown player has the Right Stuff skill they can attempt to land as normal, otherwise the player will have an additional -1 penalty to his landing. An opponent may be thrown into the crowd. This skill may only be taken and used by players with a Strength 5 or more. Pitch Player may not be taken or used by a player with the Wild Animal trait. If the throw is fumble, the opponent falls down in the square they started in and makes armour and injury rolls without modifiers.

I would not support Big Guys with just the TTM skill throwing opponents with Right Stuff.

Well Pitch Player is an action that can be done to replace your block ... however if it fails it has zero negatives.
So a Minotaur or Rat Ogre with Pitch Player could use the skill to avoid the negative of a bad block by replacing the Block with a pitch attempt.
The same ploy was used by several coaches that I knew under the now very dead 4th edition rules by giving the Rat Ogre or Minotaur a Posioned Dagger. Again the dagger's rules say that they can be used instead of blocking so it allowed these players to escape the penalty of Wild Animal.
Rather than create extra wording in Wild Animal to prevent this, I just removed the skill from Wild Animal players. Big Guys cannot get Poisoned Daggers in my league so the two "beardy" cheats are eliminated.
Which reminds me that I need to remove Wild Animals from being able to take the Bear Hug skill in my league also as it can be used in place of a block ... hmmmm .... so can Mace Tail ... egads ... I think I will just change the wording of Wild Animal ...

You DEFINITELY cannot use Throw TeamMate to throw an opponent with Right Stuff.l_dauguet wrote:Since pitch player isn't stated in the new rules, would you say that you can't throw an opposing player Galak?
Thanx
By the way if you can talk your commish into it, the MBBL2 is now using a version of Pitch Player that allows Wild Animals to have it. To use Pitch Player you need to use a Passing action so Wild Animals that go wild cannot use it since they can only take Block or Blitzing actions.
Code: Select all
Pitch Player (STRENGTH SKILL) - This skill allows a player to throw an opponent using the Throw TeamMate rules. However you must first roll to see if you snag the player to throw him. Make a Strength roll (ie an Agility roll using Strength instead of Agility as the stat) with the following modifiers:
+1 for each offensive assist you have (ie Blocking offensive assists)
-1 for each defensive assist the opponent has (ie Blocking defensive assists)
-x where x is the ST of the opponent
-1 if opponent has Block and you don't have Block
-1 if opponent has Dodge and you don't have Tackle
-1 if opponent has Side Step
-1 if opponent has Foul Appearance
An unmodified 1 means that the player attempting the Pitch Player has been knocked down and this will count as a turnover. Any other failed roll means nothing happened. A success means that the player may throw the opponent using the Throw TeamMate rules however the Landing roll will be done with a -2 modifier regardless of the result of the Throw TeamMate pass. Players suffering casualties from a Pitch Player play count for casualty SPPs (this includes if you eat the opponent).

The MBBL2 is the biggest (in terms of total number of coaches) PBeM Blood Bowl league in the world currently (55 coaches/14 countries presently)l_dauguet wrote:Sorry for that question, but what is the MBBL2 ?
Thanx
The MBBL2 ruleset is one that has been playtested for about 2 years and we keep refining it to keep it balanced.
In fact the ruleset is so well liked that I know of 4 other leagues that use the MBBL2 rules as the base for the rules for their leagues (WBBL, WBBJ-L, CSBBL, and the PDHBBL)
The MBBL2 rulebase is unique mostly because of two major items ....
1) The league has 76 different rosters that you can use for your team.
2) The league has several new skills (like Pitch Player) for your team to take on skill rolls.
3) The league uses On-Pitch Spellcasters
I know of several other leagues that have just taken some of the rulesets from our league (certain teams, skills, etc.)
Anyway, if you want to check out what makes the league different here are the links to check out:

A little down this page you'll see links for our 5 other major house rules
that cover On-Pitch Spellcasters, Upgradable Apothecaries, Personal
Trainers, Extra Rules for Cheerleaders and Asst. Coaches, Team Allies,
and giving your players Bionic limbs and eyes.
