Buying a team
hi.
Im starting to play the game and i'd like advice on what team to buy.
I do realize that there is no "ultimate best" team, but i want a team that kicks the shit out of everyone else (strenght wise).
I used to have a dwarf team and i liked them, but i also thought they were a bit limited :\
can anyone wrap up the best beat down teams and comment for me please? thnx

You could pick Orcs and learn the art of bashing from a reasonably balanced team or you could play the game to have fun and not worry about which team is the best.

For a newbie Orcs are a good starting team when you want some strength and bashy power.
Other good hitting teams are chaos, chaos dwarves, khemri (but they are very limited too) and maybe undead (depends on how you are playing them). But I think these teams are not good for a newbie.

If you are a newbie in a newbie league, I would say Lizards over Orcs. Lots of people have trouble scoring with orcs.Pushag wrote:Orcs or Lizardmen
Skinks are hard to hit, Saurii hit hard and they are all faster. THe trouble comes when coaches figure out that if they get Tackle they can wipe out all your Skinks and the Saurii can't score to save their lives.

I would absolutely not recommend starting with Lizardmen. They have a very different playing style to almost every other team - and as such you'll find it much harder to change team.
Play Orcs, Chaos, Chaos Dwarves, Dwarves or one of the Undead teams and you'll have little trouble switching to the others. Playing Orcs makes the transition to more "flair" teams a bit easier too.

Orcs are the way to go to beat the crap out of everyone else while staying relatively balanced.
Humans could also be good if you start with an Ogre and get guard right away on the blitzers.

You are right about the very different playing style, but that is part of why I recommend them. Personally I find you can learn a ton about the game mechanics from playing Lizardmen. I think more then almost any other team this one reveals the strengths and weakness of the others evenly.ianwilliams wrote: I would absolutely not recommend starting with Lizardmen.
