My Converted Norse Team.... (well some of them)

Post by dwarfcoach »

Ok, ok, I know what you're thinking;

'Why doesn't he get the other Heresy BB Ogre conversions finished before starting new stuff?'

Well, to be honest with you, I can't help it. Sometimes I swear my hands have a mind of their own (aww c'mon, you know you've used that line  ) and I just start messing with totally different models. It is totally un-intentional and sometimes annoying as I really want to finish them damn Ogres.... Oh well  .

So here is some of my converted Norse Team:

Thrower:

Catcher:

Some Linemen:

Blitzer:

They are based on the Chaos Marauder box set with some little bits and pieces from the Empire Hairy Head Sprue, some odd Empire bodies and legs I had in the bits box plus some other stuff...

What do you think? Not the paint job, it is only a real basic job until I am happy with the models then I will go back and tidy them up/spend more effort on them. It's the conversions I'm after your opinion of as I am not sure if it looks like different, unique models.

Does it work as a Norse Team?

Yeah... sculpting your own shoulder-pads. Greenstuff is ready to try that out.

The conversions are neat and well done.... still the crapy paintjob destroys some of the overall look.
Sure it will be redone, but I can't concentrate on the conversions fully.. :-?

Cheers guys :) .

What I was wondering was if there are any obvious (or not so obvious) improvements I can make?

(Apart from the very basic paint job, I know I know I know  Again, they are not finished, I've just posted them to get some feedback).

One thing I was concerned about was that they would look too hard. After all, they are only armour 7.... I just looked at the current range blitzers who looked pretty well armoured and kinda thought I would get away with it :D .

Did it work?

Less armour / more armour/ enough armour?

I think they look the part. Most of them have either bare heads or chests so they pass for av7.

As for improvements you could make, the thrower's right arm strikes me as being too straight, and the catcher's right arm is perhaps too long. Also, I think you should reposition the hands, so the back of the hand is in line with the forearm.

Yeah, I thought I cut the catchers left arm a little short when I was giving him the glove.

But apart from the 'arm-shortness' situation, giving a Norse Team a human glove works ok? I was thinking what makes a human catcher, and the glove is the characterising feature.....
